This review is long overdue. We heard about Almaden Pediatrics from a co-worker when I was pregnant with our daughter. They had recently opened their Morgan Hill location so the spot was ideal. We regularly saw Dr Pete, NP Jen, and Nurse Rosita and they were all amazing to have on our kid’s team. We recently moved out of the Bay Area and to say I miss the Almaden Pediatrics family would be a massive understatement. Between the two office locations, sick kid appointments, their navigation of this pandemic, the friendly cheerful offices, the ability to do Telehealth visits, and the amazing responsiveness through their online messaging system, I always knew we had someone in our corner when we needed them.
We love Almaden Pediatrics! My once "preemie twins" just turned 16 and I feel compelled to write a heartfelt thank you for the wonderful care Dr. Michelle and Dr. Pete have provided over the years. All four of our boys have been patients at Almaden Pediatrics, but caring for preemies requires a special touch. Dr. Michelle and Dr. Pete, along with their fabulous office staff, provided the care and expertise we needed. They were always willing to answer all of my questions, and always took extra time when the boys needed special attention. Now that the boys are teens they feel totally at home seeing Dr. Michelle and Dr. Pete on their own, and I'm so happy that we have Dr. Michelle and Dr. Pete to help us navigate the special challenges that come with raising teen boys!
I love everything about Almaden Pediatrics. I have both a son and a daughter. Dr. Pete has always been great with my son, even more it has been a saving grace to have Dr. Michelle for my daughter! Over the years she has treated my daughter for everything from simple allergies to an extremely severe case of mono--I think she would have ended up in the hospital had it not been for Dr. Michelle. She is extremely thorough in everything she does in caring for patients--during her exams, answering the myriad of questions I always have! An added bonus for my daughter is that she has been very comfortable talking to Dr. Michelle "female to female" as she has grown up. In this day and age of so many medical offices/doctors moving to big-box, crank through the patients care, it's so nice to have doctors for my kids that still provide such personalized care.
This review is not about Dr. Michelle or Pete Contini. My son has been seeing Dr. Michelle for the past five years and we are satisfied with the doctor. This review is about the two girls at the reception desk. They are not attentive and not professional at all. They don't seem to care about their patients and hard to approach when you step in the waiting room. However, I wasn't bothered too much until below two cases happened. When I called to make an appointment for my son's annual physical checkup this year, the receptionist asked if I knew my insurance requires me to wait a full calendar year for the next physical. I told them I didn't know. She requested me to call my insurance to confirm. When I told her that usually at other doctor's office, the office takes care of such inquiries. She responded that she was too busy and such calls take too much of her time. Isn't this part of your job and what you are paid for? I hope they realize that they are asking their patients to do their job. Another time when I called to make an appointment for a sick visit for my son in the morning. I was told that Dr. Michelle is out of the office that day and the nurse practitioner would be able to see my son in the morning. I cleared my morning calendar and took my son there but was told that the nurse practitioner was busy till later in the afternoon. I told them that my son's temperature has been above 100 for four days and we will have to be out of town for a few days the next day. They didn't care much and just told me that they just can't accommodate us even through it is an mistake on their side. This office is close to where we live and the doctor is satisfactory. However, I am looking for another pediatrician just to avoid the two rude, indifferent and unprofessional girls at the reception. Hope the doctors realize how these girls are impacting their patients and the office's image.
We've been going to Almaden for a year. Its so easy to get an appointment because the desk and nurse staff are so efficient. Dr. Michelle is so caring and thought with our boys. When I leave the office I always know exactly what I need to do and how to move forward. Love these guys!
