We could not be more pleased with our experience at Alteration Express (North Hills). We had two pairs of jeans shortened. From the time we walked in we have received top notch service. The young lady behind the counter patiently explained the process, the stitching and the pricing. Once we have made our decision the same young lady informed us of the lead time. And as promised both pairs were received in the time frame promised. The craftsmanship was very good. We would like to thank the AE team for being upfront, and absolutely honest. We will use their services for any alteration services we will need in the future, as well as dry cleaning. Oh, and the prices? Very very fair.

I've been having specialty alterations done for years at the North Hills location. All personnel , from the front desk to the seamstress are friendly , professional with so much attention to detail. From the first time I visited with my special request for alterations they said , " yes , we can do that for you . " Thanks to all . Those I see and those in the back of house I do not. Thanks for all you do .

I stopped into Alterations Express North Hills to have them look at my Prince Charlie jacket for an upcoming Robert Burns dinner. It was purchased to be a MTM item but it was huge along with the vest. The expert staff at Alterations Express saved the day again! They tailored the jacket and the vest. It now fits perfect, and I am all ready for the upcoming event. No matter if you need simple or complex tailoring done to your wardrobe, they can help. Even specific out of the ordinary clothing such as my Prince Charlie jacket and vest, they handled it with care and tailored it perfectly to me. The jacket was taken in on all 3 seams, sleeves shortened, vest tailored on the sides, and all cleaned and pressed in 6 days. Quality tailoring, quick turn around, and very friendly staff. The staff even take the time to remember their customers names and build a rapport with them, which is a hallmark of the highest of customer service.

Alteration Express at North Hills is a very good place. The service is great:workers are very polite, they are taking care of my alterations , I don't have to wait in line. The pick up time, their quality and prices are VERY GOOD!

In my personal experience, Alterations Express has been one of the most frustrating, unreliable places I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve brought items here multiple times, and every single time it’s the same disaster on repeat. You’d think after giving them photos, measurements, written instructions, and clear placement details, they’d be able to sew patches onto a military uniform correctly — but somehow they still managed to get it wrong again. What really pushed me over the edge was the attitude. Instead of acknowledging their mistakes, they acted like I was the problem. Their customer service, in my opinion, is downright awful — rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to take accountability. Being told that I should “place the patches myself before coming in” was honestly insulting, especially considering I had already given them everything they needed in black and white. And this isn’t a one-time slip-up. This has been a pattern, visit after visit, with no improvement whatsoever. At this point, I’m convinced they either don’t care or simply refuse to listen. Based on my experiences, I would never recommend Alterations Express to anyone. If you need precision, professionalism, or even basic competence — especially for something as important as a military uniform — go anywhere else. UPDATED REVIEW — EVEN WORSE EXPERIENCE I didn’t think my experience with Alterations Express could get any worse, but here we are. The patches were done incorrectly AGAIN, despite the instructions being printed right on their own receipt: “remove Velcro from patch, make patch 1/4” wide from the embroidered symbol.” Simple. Clear. And still not followed. When I picked up the blouses, the manager checked me out, I inspected the work, and immediately saw the patches were wrong again. Before I could even finish speaking, she snapped that they “aren’t fixing them” and that they “no longer do military patches.” No apology, no accountability—just attitude. She issued a refund on the spot, clearly more interested in getting rid of me than making anything right. My wife went back in afterward to get a receipt for the refund, and the manager was shockingly rude, yelling at her and saying, “I don’t have to help you anymore because I gave you your money back.” Completely unprofessional. My wife calmly asked for the owner or someone above her, and the manager refused to give any information whatsoever—only barked that we should “call Alterations Express in Youngstown” if we wanted a name or number. She wouldn’t even provide her own name. I called Alterations Express directly and was told the only way to speak to anyone above the manager is through corporate—who, of course, were closed until Monday. This entire situation was handled with zero professionalism, zero respect, and zero willingness to correct their own mistakes. The manager’s behavior was downright hostile. If you need anything military, police, uniform-related, or anything requiring precision, DO NOT take it to this location. They clearly have no interest in doing the work correctly or treating customers with even basic courtesy. Absolutely unacceptable.
