It's still a good place to donate blood. Snacks are not bad.
I learned to give blood from my husband who has given many gallons. Even tho it was a bit challenging for me a few times in my life, now I give ~ once a month. Hooray! Our blood is super needed & the folks are always so kind!
Great service for platelets donation. Long procces almost 2 hours, but they do everything to keep you comfortable. I don't mind since I'm helping someone in critical need of my O+ blood.
I go to Red Cross about every two weeks to donate platelets. There is always a great need to platelets, they save lives many who are cancer patients. Those patients can be old and or young. They are pretty good there, and afterwards you go to the snack area and have some snacks and juice, while waiting to make sure that you do not have and effects from the donation. You should make an appointment before going. I used to donate whole blood but being "A" positive it was said to be a universal donor for all "A" types. They do have handicap parking and ramps to get to the entrance, although I didn't notice if they have the push pad to automatically open the door. Donating platelets you lie down and they have Netflix for you to watch as it takes between 2 and maybe 4 hours for the donation. Whole blood is quicker, it can take 5 minutes or longer. If you can help save lives, then you should donate.
About a year ago, I had the worst experience in over 20 years of donating. An over 70 min wait time. I left, didn't even donate. I've been back a few times since, and today I had a great experience here. a) quick, lickety split. In and out under an hour. b) a great phlebotomist. Quick, nice, but ... Biden says the pandemic is over, so why are way too many people still wearing facemasks? In my opinion. 😊 Facemasks are now optional here, and I didn't have one on, and neither did the person drawing my blood. *Thank you.* The sooner we get back to normal, all of us, the better! 👍
