Used this gym twice while in Melbourne for the Aus Open. I went early in the morning around 4:15am as I don’t like crowds. Interesting layout for the gym. I easily got lost trying to find things. One thing I found an issue was air flow. I found the lower level suffered from lack on airflow and no fans nearby. On the plus side, it had all the equipment I use and was not Precor unlike another one I went to during my visit. Also, this gym was so much cooler than the other one. I nearly died at the other one as the aircon was not yet on! Both times I went, there was some weird people about that disappeared out the back through that big safe door or whatever it is. Then 30 mins later they left. Weird. One thing I suggest is a digital clock or two up around the gym instead of a small old fashioned clock on the wall. All the AF’s I’ve been to in Sydney and Adelaide don’t have lockers so this was interesting to see. The posters and announcements about keeping your personal belongings with you was disconcerting. For a gym with virtually no windows, I didn’t feel claustrophobic. The showers/bathrooms were spotless. I think this is my future go to gym when I’m in Melbourne. The reason for the 4 stars is the lack of airflow, particularly down the bottom.
