Would you send your child to a karate studio that made your child feel unsafe? Absolutely steer clear of this place! I can't stress enough how crucial it is to find a better option for your kids. The owners are shockingly harsh with the children, using a tone that earns nothing but fear, not respect. If you’re looking for a place that teaches discipline and the true spirit of karate, keep searching! This isn't it! ZERO STARS. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! The owners are absolutely AWFUL. The lady barks at the kids. No respect at all. The old guy is creepy as hell (go see for yourself) and he put his karate belt around my son’s neck - and tried to justify it as funny!! Unforgivable. I didn’t mind this place until I learned how the “masters” talk to their karate students, and lost it with these people after the belt incident. They have no clue what impact their rudeness has on their students and continue to justify their inexcusable behavior. **UPDATED** My son wanted to quit after the old man put his belt around his neck. But, my son was forced, against his will, to continue in spite of me finding a better karate studio that had a much more appropriate teacher and vibe. I kept attending his classes at AMA in order to protect my son (and other children) from the madness of these clueless people. I educated other parents about what I witnessed from the toxic owners and would counsel anyone to find a better karate studio for your child. And no, I did not flip my ex wife off - again, they’re clueless and now it seems liars to boot! Notice how they DIDN’T respond about the belt around my son’s neck incident. Hmmm, guess why... 🤔 It’s because they’re in the wrong and have no way to spin it positively.
Arrowhead Martial Arts Academy is a True Community Treasure - A Martial Arts School That Delivers on Every Level I haven't penned a review in some time, but I couldn’t stay silent after seeing such a wildly false and over-the-top post attacking our incredible martial arts academy. All four of my children currently attend AMAA, and they absolutely love it. The instructors are professional, experienced, and passionate about what they do. They treat every child with respect while still maintaining the structure and discipline that martial arts is all about. There’s a huge difference between being firm and being harsh - this academy gets it right. The owners are down-to-earth believers who have run this business for 30-years. You don’t last that long unless you’re doing something very right. AMAA has built a reputation on integrity, quality instruction, and genuine care for its students. My kids are more focused, confident, and respectful because of the time they’ve spent here. Also worth mentioning: they are ESA-friendly, which has been a huge help for our family. They make martial arts accessible for all kinds of families, and that speaks volumes about their commitment to the community. If you’re looking for a place where your child can grow mentally, physically, and emotionally in a safe, encouraging environment -this is it. Don’t be misled by the ramblings of someone with an axe to grind. Visit, observe a class, talk to other parents - you’ll see the truth for yourself.
I just attended my first graduation ceremony. It was awesome! Professional, entertaining, memorable and respectful. I can tell Grandmaster Tippett and Master Tippett care about their students and want to help them learn respect, confidence, discipline and self control. My daughter and her family have been taking classes here for the past 4 years. I’m really impressed with this program and the owners.
I would highly recommend this Academy to anyone looking to gain experience in Taekwondo or mixed martial arts in general. The ownership and staff provide detailed training, while instilling key life values. Our son just earned his black belt. More importantly, he learned a great life lesson in commitment and knowing he can accomplish anything he sets his mind to! This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of the ownership and staff. Thank you Mr. And Mrs Tippet!
Been attending for 6 years this month. My son Has earned his 2nd degree black belt and has goals to get to go even higher. Studio is clean. Program is very structured and owners/instructors are very organized. Not only do they work on the physical aspect of Tae Kwon Do, but they also work on fundamentals of good character and citizenship at home and school with their “aims to achieve “; modesty, courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit.
