AVOID this shop for GUITAR AMP repairs!!! I dropped off my amp on July 3rd and clearly asked if I could get it back by late August because of gigs and recording sessions. They said it would take weeks, which I understood. But after a month of silence, I had to chase them with emails and calls—only to find out they hadn’t even started. I had to spend extra for a backup plan. By mid-September, they told me the amp was “fixed” and claimed they removed a faulty capacitor. When I picked it up, the same noise issue was still there. I sent them a video, and they said they’d send it to the manufacturer. No updates until Nov 4th, when they finally forwarded the video. When I asked what was done to the amp, they first said the capacitor was replaced—then admitted they did nothing. Yes, they lied. Even after that, my case had no priority. On Nov 20th, they concluded the capacitor was factory-installed and my amp was “fine.” They never notified me—I had to call again on Dec 4th to get my amp back. After five months, I paid about $200, got the same amp back, and missed months of use. They refused any refund or apology and kept blaming me for wanting it “fast.” They repeatedly promised “next week” and never delivered. If you’re a guitar player, don’t choose this shop. Maybe they’re better with mixers or other pro audio gear, but for amps, this was a nightmare: poor communication, broken promises, and outright dishonesty.
Here is my experience. My Marshall code 50 amplifier had been sent to this sorry place for repairs. Early on in the process, I on my own called them to confirm that they indeed received the amplifier. They confirmed that with me on the phone and told me that it had not been checked in at that time and soon as it had been checked in, they would email me a report of some sort. After about two weeks and no email, or contact of any sort, I called again. They again told me the amplifier had not been checked in as of yet. They assured me that as soon as it was, they would email me the details. Again this never happened. They also told me that it would be a minimum of 8 weeks out before they could even get to the amplifier for troubleshooting and diagnosis. I was not thrilled about that, but I was very patient and thankful at that moment that they seemed to be upfront with me about it. Four weeks in, I emailed someone with the only email address from their website, I get a response from someone saying they had no records of my customer information and that the responding individual was working from home and may not have the proper information. I was told to give them a call once again. I did not, because it is obvious at that point, that the amplifier hasn't been " checked in " still. Three and a half months later, still no contact of any kind, or update whatsoever. I checked all of my emails including spam and promotions etc. and yep... nothing. I proceed to contact Marshall themselves to advise them of my situation and they were shocked to learn about this ordeal. Marshall tells me that they will look into the matter for me. A couple of days later, Marshall does contact me and tells me that according to Audio Lab, the amplifier is currently under repair and that I should be getting it back soon. 🙄 Well another couple of weeks go by and still no contact and still no amplifier either. At this point I have had enough, it had been four and a half months now and I am starting to loose my cool about it all. What kind of company doesn't even attempt to at least contact you with any kind of update, or information whatsoever for over four months? Pathetic! Finally, Marshall themselves, assured me that I would be sent a brand new amplifier and a couple of extra gifts for my troubles. Marshall did exactly as they promised. They sent me a new micro amplifier, a new amplifier and a new foot controller for the amplifier as well in the end. Thank you Marshall for standing behind your products and your customers! My first and only experience with Audio Lab was absolutely terrible! I feel sorry for anyone who has to go through what I did attempting to deal with this horrible place! If you are having to have something sent to them for warranty coverage repairs and you here that it is being sent to Audio Lab of Georgia, you may want to ask for a refund, or some other alternative. Now I understand why the bad reviews were left for this so called business. Sure, they had a fair overall Google reviews rating, but I know from first hand experience that reviews can be manipulated by outside sources. Such as friends, family, co-workers etc.. If anyone tries to refute my review, go ahead! I have all of the pics and emails to prove exactly what I have stated here. How a place like this stays in business is certainly mind boggling to say the least! That is as polite as I can be about my " experience" with these clowns!
I took my turntable to these people in 2022- at the time it was working but had been in storage for over 30 years. I asked them to go through it, and replace any needed parts. Gordon told me they couldn't get to it right away, and I was fine with that. However, I never heard from them so I called after a few months and was told they were working on it but waiting on a part. Called back again a few months later, same story. After a year and a half of no communication or progress I went to pick it up, planning on sending it somewhere else. Gordon assured me they would get to it in the next couple of weeks, so I decided to take his word for it and left the turntable with him. Several months went by, I called again.....was told they really were working on it and just give them a couple more weeks. Finally, after 3 years I had enough and went to pick my turntable up. Gordon was exceptionally rude, as if this was somehow my fault. I had left a $50 deposit when I first brought them the turntable....he initially refused to return that, telling me it was for teardown and inspection which I did not accept. He finally refunded that, but never apologized and rolled his eyes throughout our entire conversation. I wish I would've looked closer at my turntable while I was there....once I got home I realized the spindle was missing and all of the switches were junk (they were good when I left it with them, so I believe they swapped my good ones out with bad ones). These are terrible people, their shop is a dump and as you can see from other reviews they couldn't care less about their customers. Apparently Jerry the owner and his employee Gordon think people are idiots. Never, ever, ever again.
As I was online searching to see who has the best rating for dj equipment repairs, I came to notice Audio Lab had the best in the area. My K.12.2 never powered on and I needed it repaired asap, so I took it to them for repairs. A week and a half later my speaker was fixed and for some reason it sounded soooo much better than what it sounded when I brought it in to them. They said they will do there best to have it fixed before my next event, and there word was solid. I am pleased to say I recommend them for service as I myself will continue doing business with them when necessary. Thank you verrrrrry much Audio Lab. 👍🏽 👍🏽
I WISH I could give ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were contracted through an insurance company, kept my 1970 record player for three months and didn’t fix anything. They REMOVED GENUINE PARTS from my record player. What a scam of a company. I am heartbroken. I noticed my records weren’t playing properly, and Jerry replied that there could be dust. I clean m’y old records and most of my records are brand new. That’s when I took a closer look and realized he didn’t even screw down the player and removed the GENUINE PARTS. AGH!!! I’m so mad.
