I saw Dr. Laura Shellooe for PFPT. There isn’t enough space here for me to accurately give her the credit and props she deserves for helping me navigate all of the hurdles that come with hyper mobility (which she identified) and life after having a baby. After four months (I think) I went from below average core strength to above average. I state this metric confidently as she had an actual method for measuring, and I so appreciate her quantitative, data driven approach to addressing weaknesses in my body overall. I’ve had many excellent PTs in my life but what stands out about Laura in particular is this combination of evidence based care, combined with how certain movements or symptoms felt. She taught me correct form for a number of basic core and weightlifting exercises that I assumed were self explanatory and easy to implement on my own. I was wrong haha. Anyway, I am so thankful for Laura and her excellent care. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for PFPT in the area.
Avant Physical Therapy was incredibly helpful and restorative, and I always felt I was in competent hands. Paige was an outstanding therapist - knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in my progress. Also very personable and funny! Just a good human who I enjoyed spending time with (despite the planks). The front office staff was so kind and responsive, making every visit smooth and stress-free. I have threatened to reinjure myself in order to spend more time with the Avant staff, but they've encouraged me to stay healthy instead.
I worked with Laura S. for a few months on pelvic floor related issues. The place is clean and comfortable. Laura was very professional throughout the initial assessment, follow-up evaluations, and in adjusting my workout plan as I progressed. She listened carefully, provided good education, and offered many helpful advices, sometimes even beyond typical physical therapy. I am really happy with the outcome and glad I came.
Highly recommend! I was anxious to find a pelvic floor therapist during pregnancy and was SO glad to find Avant. They worked with my insurance, which was a huge plus, and Laura is the best! She is so comfortable to work with and tuned into my personal needs. She created a personalized plan to alleviate pain, strengthen my body, and prepare for birth. Laura also offered a birth prep session — my husband was able to join and she taught us how he could provide physical support during labor. PT for me and partner prep for both of us was a game changer for my pregnancy and birth experience. I look forward to continuing treatment postpartum as well.
Laura is a miracle worker!!! I’ve had back pain from ages 12 to 50 from scoliosis and I’ve been without pain 4 years after finishing treatment with Laura Bannister. Laura is amazing!!! I was referred to Laura for planar fasciitis. My appointment was in July 2019. I had just returned from a trip where I pinched my neck the L5. I couldn’t look up without sever pain. When I came to Laura that day, I had a pinched nerve in my neck, planar fasciitis in both feet, and pinched nerves in both hips and overall back pain. Oh, and I was traveling so much, I was only in Seattle for treatment a couple of weeks every two months. She gave me exercises that I could do on the road. My neck got a lot better by Feb 2020. When the pandemic hit, we were able to have video visits and it became so much easier to be able to have consistent schedule of appointments that I made a lot progress very fast. I loved the video appointments. It made it so easy to fit Physical Therapy into my day. My last Physcial therapy appointment was July 7, 2020 and I was feeling no pain. All my pinched nerves were resolved and my feet felt great! And, I still have no pain! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!! PS. I have had this review on my ToDo list since July 2020. Laura - you are amazing person!! Thank you so much for helping me!
