Amazing work! Craig is a xeriscaping master. I hired him to do a project on one of my Phoenix properties, and he delivered! From initial yard concept design, to getting all the details just right (plant selection, maintenance and seasonality planning), it was a 10/10 execution from start to finish. Strong communication during the entire project, and the project was finished ahead of the promised timeline, which is something I almost NEVER experience with most contractors. I recommend very highly in all dimensions!
Wow I cannot get over the experience we had with AZNativeScapes! The reviews are what inspired me to hire this company and I can confidently say they fully live up to every one of their five-star reviews. They installed an entire new irrigation system in the front and back yard, leveled the land and installed drainage to keep water from foundation, planted about 30 plants and 2 trees, hardwired landscape path and spot lights, new rock in front and back, installed paver walkway and extended patio with pavers, installed flagstone pavers, designed and installed a garden area with 3 large garden beds all with drip irrigation installed, installed a new irrigation timer and new valves. They were on the job about a week and a half. Some of the things I want to highlight: 1. The crew showed up right on time every day of our project and worked hard for the entire day. It was the same crew every day. 2. Craig communicated SO WELL. Every morning, we would walk the project with him and he would let us know the goals of the day. After the crew left later on in the day we would get a wrap up text of everything that was completed. 3. The crew cleaned up as much as they could every single day before they left. They blew away the dirt and packed up everything so it was out of the way. 4. We had Landscape lighting installed and at the end of the job someone went around and cleaned every single light off by hand so it was extra polished. 5. After the job was over we had an issue with our irrigation system not related to the work they did, but they came back out and fixed it for us for free! 6. Weekly check ups from Craig after the job was done to check on the plants, watering, etc. 7. The drains they installed (our yard used to flood after any amount of rain) worked perfectly and it rained about a week after the job was done and NO FLOODING. 8. Craig became like a friend and I was sad when the job was done because he wouldn't be coming by every day lol I could go on and on. I would have paid double what they quoted me if I knew the project would go this well. We are so thrilled with our front and back yard and all the work they did. Just go ahead and hire these guys, you will not regret it!
Fantastic from first call to finished yard! I had no idea what I wanted - just better. Craig walked me through the whole process from design ideas to shopping for plants, to how wide to make new paver sidewalks, to placement of everything. He listened to everything I said and added his professional opinion. I can’t say enough about the landscaping crew! Very professional at all times- they worked efficiently and really cranked out some hard work. It was really a team effort as they double checked all placements. Everything was put away cleanly every night and they communicated with me constantly. If you want someone with enthusiasm, a great design eye, who knows his plants and has terrific people working together this is the team you want!!
Working with Craig to design my backyard was an absolute pleasure. I met with multiple landscapers to do my diligence in the selection process, and Craig really showed that he understood my vision from the very beginning. He has decades of experience and knows quality work and quality materials vendors. He also has great knowledge/long-term thinking on plant selection and growth. So many landscape designers try to force turf and hardscape, and really know nothing about plants, and this is something I really felt differentiated Craig from the rest. His crew worked quickly and left the yard clean each day of the 5-day job. They seemed happy and well taken care of! They leveled my yard, created raised mounds for interest and erosion support, expanded the patio, installed three lines of irrigation and lighting, and put in plants, boulders, and rock ground. What I love most about Craig is how personable he is to work with. I was always welcome to text him day or night, and he always accommodated my availability around a demanding work schedule. He kept me super involved in the process every step of the way. He's a blast to work with and just a great person all around. He's very proud of and passionate about his work and the quality he provides! I highly recommend Craig and his crew to bring your landscape vision to life! Before and after pictures shown. We had a fantastic experience with AZ NativeScapes! They helped us redesign our entire yard (admitted a smaller project), transitioning from a traditional all-grass layout to a thoughtful and sustainable Arizona xeriscape that’s both beautiful and low-maintenance. In the backyard, we had a 40-year-old orange tree that had reached the end of its life — they carefully removed it and planted a new one in its place. They cut our grass footprint in half, leveled and sloped the land for proper drainage, and installed hybrid Bermuda sod (just as we requested — great for our dog). The rest of the space was filled in with native xeriscape features that complement the desert environment perfectly. The front yard was fully converted — all the grass was removed and replaced with a true Arizona xeriscape. Gorgeous flowering cactus and a variety of native and desert-compatible plants now fill the space, all selected and placed for low-maintenance care and resilience through the harsh Sonoran Desert summers. Craig, the owner, is incredibly hands-on, and his crew — many of whom have been with him for years — reflects his strong, steady leadership. The professionalism, care, and attention to detail were clear at every step. We were especially impressed with how they worked around rare rainstorms that hit Tempe during the project. Instead of letting it delay them, they timed the yard shaping and planting to take advantage of the rain — a testament to their experience and thoughtful approach.
