If you’re in the Financial District and craving Mediterranean cuisine, Barcha is a popular lunch spot to visit with friends or colleagues. The menu includes vegetarian-friendly options, and the hummus makes for a great shareable appetizer. I found the halloumi and chicken kebab plate perfectly satisfying. To end on a sweet note, don’t skip the baklava.

I love Mediterranean food and this place is fantastic! Every dish we tried was amazing and their whiskey sour is consistently excellent and never disappoints. I’ve returned several times, and the food quality is always so good. But it’s not ideal for date nights, as most evenings feel like team events with large groups, making it quite loud and crowded

The Pathway mocktail - 5/5 explosion of flavor Barcha honey hummus - 5/5 pita bread was hot and buttery, halloumi cheese drizzled in honey was amazing. Friend said, why do people eat other things when we have hummus? Beef dumplings - 3/5 good but forgettable Seafood paella - 1/5 SKIP this is just a plate of bland oily noodles with seafood toppings. Friend says it tastes like saffron Pistachio tiramisu - 4/5 not too sweet, but sugar still overpowers any coffee and rum flavors Came here for team lunch around 15 people. Reservation requires deposit. Lovely space. Cute seats, good for short people. Food came out an hour after we sat down.

I ordered the Turkish Spiced Lamb & Beef Shawarma with potatoes, and it was delicious! The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. Service was a bit slow this time, and it’s on the pricier side for a sandwich and side, but the flavor made it worth it. On my prior visit, we dined inside and service was a bit faster. Pictures are from September visit--Chicken Shawarma and Grilled Steak Kabob.

great mediterranean spot in sf with a super welcoming vibe. i got the octopus and the cold dip mezze and both were so well-prepared. the bread was fresh and warm, and the dips were packed with flavor — couldn’t stop eating them. they also have a great wine list that pairs perfectly with the food. would come back in a heartbeat, especially for a cozy dinner or group meal.
