Great place for a first climbing experience This was my first time trying climbing, and I really enjoyed it. The gym is well set up, with interesting routes and options for different skill levels, even for beginners. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave me a proper introduction, explained everything clearly, and made sure I felt comfortable and safe before starting. Overall, I had a great time and a lot of fun. was a very positive first experience, and I'm definitely interested in coming back and climbing more in the future. Highly recommend!

Had my first bouldering experience here and it was honestly great. The gym is a bit small - no real spot to sit and snack but I guess that didn’t really matter. The beginner lesson was worth it, and Sam was the sweetest instructor :) He’s super responsible and encouraging

I don't boulder much. I usually frequent Basecamp on Bloor. But I had a chance to take my kids to the Queen location to do some bouldering. I was blown away by how warm and inviting the atmosphere is. Beautiful artwork, super kind staff, and routes for all shapes, sizes, stages, and abilities. The other climbers were friendly and helpful. Overall, an exceptional place to take yourself and your kids without having to drive an hour out of the city. Would highly recommend!

A cool downtown climbing spot! The staff were helpful in getting me oriented when I stopped by. The front desk has drinks and snacks and the staff were very knowledgeable. You walk down a staircase to get to the climbing area. It’s got funky murals and a fun climbing vibe. It’s a big gym, so there are a ton of problems to choose from, including some traverse-y ones (my favourite). The problems are well- set and there are some pretty creative routes I had to think through. The moon board was a challenge, something I’ll definitely come back to! I later brought my 4 year old to join me and she had a great time. She spent the session working on a shorter wall that had problems appropriate for her level. I stayed close by to spot her in case she fell. I think she felt extra hard core being around all the climbers. Everyone was welcoming to her and she felt like part of the crew. The beautiful art was a bonus. Overall- a very warm and encouraging spot to climb!

Basecamp Queen West is such a welcoming space! I’m new to climbing, and honestly bouldering always seemed a little intimidating to me, but this gym completely changed that. The staff are super friendly and approachable, and the overall vibe makes you feel comfortable trying things out, even if you’re brand new. I’ve been going to both Basecamp locations for about a year now, and have been so happy to include bouldering and climbing into my regular routine. What I really love is how supportive the atmosphere is. Nobody is judgemental, which is always something I’m nervous about when starting a new sport. People are encouraging, take turns on the wall, and the staff have been really helpful to explain things when I need. I love that there’s a sense of community that makes it fun whether you come alone or with friends. Also love that dogs are welcome :) The gym itself is bright, clean and in an easy location to get to. The routes are set up for all levels, so you can progress at your own pace and still feel challenged. Basecamp has turned something I thought was scary into something I genuinely look forward to. Highly recommend it, especially for beginners!
