Fantastic art gallery and record shop. The owners came out of 90s alt poetry and music scene in Vancouver. They host amazing events to celebrate local music history and contemporary acts. The gallery is one of the few in Montreal that spotlights contemporary realism. Lots of magical realism and surrealism. It's such a gem of a space!

Great destination itself, but also a nice stopping point if you're visiting Atwater Market, the canal, etc. They have a curated music selection that I didn't have time to fully explore. The vinyl selection looked promising, but I was shopping for CDs. I found a few for cheap within 10 or so mins leaving me a bit to focus on the fantastic art showcase in the sizeable gallery space. The gallery alone is worth your while. Alison was very warm, enthusiastic, and informative. If you're a local, she hosts events and film screenings regularly. There's a lot to love about BBAM!!
