We hired Bob Gail's dance band "Higher Ground" for our wedding last month at the Bel Air Bay Club. Having a live band at our wedding was always my dream but admittedly not my fiancee's or her family's. Any skepticsim completely evaporated by the time the wedding reception started. Our band--11 pieces, including trombone--was spectacular. I really can't say enough about how fun the evening was with Higher Ground leading the dance floor. We, and all our guests, danced non-stop. From start to finish, the band's song selections perfectly matched the energy throughout the evening. Every member was super talented, with the lead singers perfectly capturing the sound and feel of the original songs but with an energy that is only possible performed live. We were seriously impressed with their sheer versatility, jumping effortlessly between different genres and eras. We also had a few specific requests that the band very flexibily accommodated. We had choreography for our first dance and the band offered to rehearse with us before the reception. We also wanted to play some recorded songs during the band's breaks and they wove our songs into their own set list seamlessly. Bob Gail also offered a very intuitive song selection tool on which we could specify which songs we wanted to hear at the wedding. They even went out of their way to learn a song that was not part of their set list but that they knew we love. The band members were also incredibly friendly and gracious. They felt like a part of the family for the night. Even now, a month after the wedding, we still have family members tell us how great the band was and one guest even told me she can't wait to hire them for her own son's wedding no matter the cost.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Bob Gail Events on behalf of our law firm for several major events over the years—starting with our 20th anniversary celebration in 2009, and again in 2023 and 2024. Every time, the experience has been exceptional. Brian and Scott are an absolute pleasure to work with—professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure every detail is right. The live music has always been a highlight—elegant, fun, and tailored perfectly to the vibe we were going for. Can’t wait to work with them again. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!

We couldn't be happier with Bob Gail Special Events. We rented several large art deco props for our holiday party, and they were a hit. From the quality and detail of their props, to the professionalism of the entire staff, it was a great experience. In fact, our facilities manager said this vendor was one of the most organized, efficient and professional he'd ever worked with while at our company.

I contacted three different LA vendors for an event and none of them were able to meet our visual and guest ambiance requests, timeframe, or budget. Luckily, Bob Levine and his team were able to put something together that exceeded expectations. Additionally, he took the time to physically scope out the venue and communicated updates directly to myself and my team because we could not be at the venue during the planning phase. He served as our eyes and ears. The guests of the event had a great time and sent praise almost immediately after the event. It was a very positive experience and I highly recommend working with them.

We have been using Bob Gail Special Events for several years now, and they are always great! Their props are top quality, and make a great statement, whatever theme we are dealing with. Aside from great props, their staff and onsite crews are thorough and seem to care about your installation - going into the final details of the install. Bob Levine is great and can help with ideas; the crew are kind and thoughtful and very professional. We recommend all of them very highly!
