My mum booked a wax appointment with Body Conscious for 13/12/2025. Unfortunately, she was hospitalised prior to this appointment. I contacted Body Conscious several days in advance to explain that she was in hospital and unable to attend. During that call, I also informed the receptionist that my mum had a massage booked for 23/12/2025 and advised that I would call closer to the date to confirm whether she had been discharged. I called again three days before 23/12/2025 to confirm that my mum was still hospitalised and unable to attend. I requested refunds for both appointments and was told that if my mum still wanted the treatments, refunds would not be issued but the appointments could be rescheduled at a later date without additional charge once she was well enough. Following her hospital stay, my mum was diagnosed with a terminal illness. When she attended Body Conscious today for a massage, she was informed that I had not cancelled the previous two appointments on time and therefore no refund was due. This left my mum believing she would have to pay again for the massage. She calmly explained the situation to the manager, including that she had nearly died, although she did not disclose further personal details as the conversation was taking place in front of other staff members. The situation was unnecessarily escalated when another member of staff involved herself. Both staff members’ attitudes were abrupt and unprofessional, leaving my mum feeling embarrassed, anxious, and distressed. Afterwards, I contacted Body Conscious and was told there had been “miscommunication.” I was then incorrectly accused of cancelling the wax appointment only three hours beforehand and cancelling the massage on the day — both of which are completely untrue. As my mum attempted to leave due to embarrassment and anxiety, the manager shouted after her, telling her not to leave and stating, “I have a business to run and wages to pay,” despite my mum having just explained she had nearly died. The manager later told me my mum could return for the massage; however, due to her distress, she was unable to do so. I contacted Body Conscious again to inform the manager of my mum’s decision and once more requested a refund. The manager told me she was in a meeting and would call me back. When she later did, she stated she would only refund the cheapest treatment and would not refund the other unless I provided phone records as proof. At this point, my mum is terminally ill and there are far more important matters to focus on. This experience demonstrated a serious lack of compassion, discretion, and professionalism. Sensitive conversations were conducted in public areas, incorrect accusations were made, and money was prioritised over basic human decency. I would like to note that all staff members my mum encountered prior to this incident were very kind, and she has nothing but praise for those who previously treated her. However, due to this experience and her first encounter with management, she will never use Body Conscious again.

Had the most relaxing pamper session with Carla and Abbie (lash lift & tint, brow wax and massage). They were both so friendly, professional and attentive, and I’m really happy with the results. Couldn’t fault it at all. 10/10, highly recommend.

Long review but its needed I think! I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional service provided by Carla at Body Conscious. From the outset many years ago when I first came to the salon her professionalism, efficiency, and calming presence immediately put me at ease. Waxing can naturally be an uncomfortable or even embarrassing experience, but Carlas very friendly, respectful and reassuring manner completely removes any sense of awkwardness. What truly stood out to me recently was how she handled my 14-year-old daughter’s first waxing appointment. Understandably, she was nervous, but the Carla took the time to explain the process clearly and gently, ensuring my daughter felt informed, safe, and comfortable throughout. By the end of the session, my daughter was visibly relieved and commented on how much easier and less intimidating it was than she had expected. The level of care, discretion, and expertise offered at Body Conscious is second to none. I trust Carla completely and will not consider going anywhere else for waxing services. Her skill and compassionate approach truly sets her apart. The prices for treatments are very good and are worth every penny! I am always a very very happy customer at the end of every appointment.
