The owner Susan and her team do a phenomenal job here taking care and training dogs. We’ve taken our dog Twila there for almost 3 years and we are so happy our dog is there. Our dog is excited when she gets there and seems to have a lot of interaction while she’s there. Highly recommend.
I signed my dog up for training then had to delay it because there was such a backlog on getting him into any vet for vaccinations in the meantime I requested numerous times thru email that I get Sam enrolled in a beginning puppy class. I was put on a email list that sent out advanced trainings none of which was applicable to Sam needing a beginning class. After repeated emails and many left.messages I gave up and asked for a refund.which the owner said she would do it has been months and my preference would be to still start Sam in a.beginning puppy class now that he is current on shots but communication on boniafides end.has been almost nonexistent and seriously lacking on any effort on their end to follow thru , I have all of my notes about voice messages documented that were never returned and the money was never credited back.to my card. My preference would be to give this one more try on getting Sam enrolled in a beginner puppy class
My dog loves Bonafide Day Academy! They have done such a great job with him. When I was pregnant they immediately starting training him to walk with a stroller and now we can take walks together with my baby. I love the report cards and pictures they post of the dogs doing cute little activities. Bonafide is great!
******Important Edits I would like to add some important edits at the top of this review because it appears that the response from this company is giving false information about the crate. My dog was introduced to a crate at 12 weeks old. My dog joined Bonafide just days before he turned 1. One of the goals I shared with Bonafide was to improve his comfort in the crate. My dog has never shown a dislike to the crate, to be clear. This was not his first time with a crate. I wanted him to be more comfortable with longer periods of time as he grew beyond a puppy. I carried out all of the recommendations each day. There was no "lack of consistency" on my end. I can appreciate that Bonafide took ownership in saying this could have been handled better, but I don't appreciate the misinformation in this company's response about the crate. Also the issue was not resolved in my opinion, I asked for a partial refund for training (that did not work) and Bonafide could not honor my request. Instead they sent the unused prepaid amount for that month. I spent over $3000 at this facility. My dog spent months there and he left with minimal improvement. The owner offered to switch to training, but I'm not sure why one would feel comfortable or even confident sending their dog back after saying there is safety concern to the staff. In the response, I noticed they changed it to a safety concern to other dogs. There was never any mention of safety concerns, misfit, aggression, or anything close. Not even a warning. They just kicked him out same day for what the vet was able to diagnose as anxiety. It's okay if Bonafide determined that my dog's needs are beyond their scope, but it would have been nice to know at his entry test or before I spent thousands of dollars. Please choose trainers with a guarantee. My previous dog was trained by a company with a guarantee and the results are night and day. I spent $2500 and he was able to complete obedience training and teach the skills for him to begin training as a service dog in 2 weeks. If I was still in Tennessee, I would have absolutely used his services. ******* Original Post We had a disheartening experience with this company. I would not recommend this business. My dog attended their day program for several months and he had positive report cards daily. My dog got sick in June. I took proper precautions and kept him home while he recovered. When it was appropriate to return in July, they recommended he should not come back due to behavior issues. Mind you, there were no warnings by staff members leading up, only positive reports. Additionally, they recommended he should not come back on a Thursday at 6 PM , after I l picked him up, which meant I had to hurry up and find support for my dog on Friday. I also found it strange that they didn’t share this information at pick up, and instead via phone call hours later. I found it to be unprofessional and there is a clear lack of consideration for others. I paid over thousands for their daily training just for them to excuse him. I shared with the owner that my dog gets scared during thunderstorms and their facility has a tin roof which exacerbates sounds from rain/storms, which was most likely the source of his anxiety. Prior months in Omaha didn’t have heavy storms, and rather than problem solving as trainers/sharing their concerns with me, they just excused him. That is quite disappointing that they are supposed to be trainers and deliver low quality service. Save your time and money.
I started sending my 1.5 year old Australian cattle dog to Bonafide Dog Academy a few months ago and the difference in her is like night and day. She has developed confidence, her little personality is showing through more and more every day, she squeals with excitement in the car every morning she has daycare when she realizes where we are going. I am updated at least once a week on her progress and anytime I have a question the staff at Bonafide is patient and thorough in explaining their training process and how I can implement changes at home to support the work they are doing. This is easily the best investment I have made as a dog owner and I am so amazed and grateful by the confidence my once shy and timid girl has gained in just a few short months. This isn't your typical daycare where your dog simply gets to run and play with other dogs all day to get her wiggles out, the team really works with them to get to know your specific breed so they are getting what they need. Dog training isn't a one size fits all and the peace of mind I get dropping her off everyday is everything. A million thank yous to such an amazing staff and business!!
