• sticky bun [$8] i finally had the time to visit bread club on queensberry st after having lived there for over a year before. and as a bread lover, i can safely say they’re a gem not to be missed in north melbourne! 😍🥨🥐 bread club has been on my list of bakeries to visit since before i even came to melbourne for my studies, bc i’ve always heard my fellow foodie friends praising their bakes & telling me about the long queues (thankfully they move pretty fast yay!) despite arriving nearly at their closing time, they still had a fairly huge selection of bread, pastries and sandwiches to offer, making me spoilt for choice. the danishes caught my eye, but i decided to get the sticky bun instead, because the cream looked so delicious 🤤 i was pleasantly surprised to find that the bread was still fresh and not too dry/hard even at closing! the caramelised walnuts and sides of the scroll were not overly sweet, which is a + for me. the highlight of the bun in my opinion would have to be the addition of both the candied walnuts & sticky date-infused (?) cream on top of the bun. the cream was just the right amount of lightness and it was also slightly sweet, complementing and balancing the hints of cinnamon and savoury notes of the bread itself. the flavours and textures complemented each other really well, & i’ll be sure to come back for more soon! i’m so looking forward to trying their savoury pizza bakes 🥖🍕& toffee dark chocolate cookies next 🍪🍫 💌 follow @bigbackcamel on instagram for more reviews!

Excellent pastries at Bread Club! We had a croissant and a pain au chocolat — no notes, both were delicious. There’s just something extra special about their pastry, and the chocolate was so good. Great café lattes and the staff are super friendly. The prices were reasonable too — $21 for two pastries and two coffees means we can enjoy Bread Club more often! 🥐🤎
