Great croissants near Queen Victoria Market. Tried several flavours and the Dubai chocolate croissant really stood out — rich chocolate, nutty pistachio filling, indulgent without being too sweet. Would happily come back!

My partner and I went to Publique Bakery today to try some Melbourne style pastries. We did get a little lost trying to find it, but it didn’t take long to get there in the end. The outdoor seating was a bit lacklustre but it still had very Melbourne vibes. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a beautiful display of bread stacked along the walls. The service was fine, the staff were nice, just a little reserved and quiet. There was a great selection of pastries and they were all really unique. My partner and I ordered the blueberry danish and the raspberry danish and oh. my. GOD. Absolute heaven. It genuinely felt like I’d stepped into a Melbourne patisserie and somehow ended up in France. We’ll definitely be back to try more, thank you guys!

Great plain croissant and Portuguese tart. Lots of other interesting and creative flavours paired with French pastry like pain bulgogi, garlic croissant, and other seasonal choices. The pastries are on the larger side. Kids found the baguette to be on the dry side. Tucked at the back of a laneway, no queues on a weekday morning. Loved the display of bread on the back wall and cabinets full of variety and glistening patisseries.
