Let me start by saying We had to visit the first winery in the state of California, and Buena Vista certainly delivers on history and personality. You arrive in a gravel parking lot and walk about 1.5–2 blocks down a path toward the winery, passing signs that share bits of its past and plenty of life-size historical cutouts along the way. It sets a fun, quirky tone before you even step inside. Our tasting was held indoors, where you can choose to stand at the bar or sit. Our host Eric Perez was nice , fun to talk to and very knowledgeable. The wines were so good. Since I was celebrating my 50 birthday Eric poured me some special wines to try on our tasting and all I have to say that it was a great ending to our day!!! This is a unique stop for history lovers and anyone who enjoys a tasting room with loads of character and fun time. The views are spectacular too. You have to come and check it out if you are in Sonoma valley.

The interior is eclectic with one part old-world salon, part whimsical curiosity shop with crocodiles, sheriff badges, and an array of knickknacks for sale ranging from Baccarat and perfume to stuffed crocodiles. It’s definitely memorable. Our host was nice and knowledgeable. While the wines themselves weren’t our personal favorites, we loved their port and sherry. They aren’t listed on the tasting menu, but absolutely ask to try them...you won’t regret it. A unique stop for history lovers and anyone who enjoys a tasting room with loads of character.

Neat winery tour which takes you across some beautiful grounds. I can't say I appreciated the hard sell on a wine club at the end of the tour, but I understand that's pretty typical for the area. Buena Vista Winery was a fun stop but I can't say I need to come back next time I'm in wine country.

Stopped in for the quintessential winery tour whole in Sanoma. We were pleasantly surprised, the count gave is an incredible experience! Learned a lot, truly discovered what makes a great whine, and really enjoyed the tour. I discovered the the type of whine doesn't necessarily imply what it'll taste like, it only describes the type of grapes and it area the grapes come from.

We had a wonderful experience at Buena Vista Winery! The wines were excellent, and our tasting with Mili Franceschi made it even more enjoyable. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and explained what we needed to know about the wines. We felt very well taken care of and truly enjoyed the atmosphere. It was definitely one of the highlights of our honeymoon trip. If we could, we’d come back tomorrow! And we will definitely return the next time we are in the area. Thank you, Mili, for making our visit so special!
