One of the best urban meditation centers in the vipassana tradition. Kind staff, beautiful building, and welcoming community. Larry, Narayan, and Michael are incredibly knowledgeable, genuine — and human. Larry Rosenberg was one of my favorite teachers — in any spiritual tradition. He’s that rare combination of incredibly funny and blunt — and genuinely caring. CIMC offers a variety of programming, from drop-in meditation sessions, to Wednesday evening talks, to affinity programs for various communities — to daylong in-center retreats. The building housing the center is absolutely gorgeous. It’s traditional and stately — while remaining cozy and welcoming. The surrounding wooden fence and gardens give the impression of being in a Japanese monastery. Beautiful place and great people. I highly recommend it!

Love Vipassana since I discovered I could shut up in peace for ten days and didn't die😇, some friends didn't believe me (that I shut up!) so I told them "you shut up and go sit down, you will be welcomed". I don't live here, but in my next trip I will plan on going to this beautiful center.

Meditation center with regularly scheduled free evening meditation sits. A whole calendar of other activities, but I primarily go to sit and meditate. Very crunchy granola vibes. Area inside to take your shoes off and a coat closet. Sometimes there's tea after the meditations and everyone is invited to stay and chat over tea

Excellent space to learn and deepen meditation practice. A variety of programs with outstanding guiding teachers. Difficult to build community, as programming centers on meditation practice and opportunities to get to know people are limited.

A precious and authentic urban meditation center in the vipassana/insight meditation tradition. One-time sessions, recurring workshops, and meditation retreats for the full spectrum of practitioners, from beginners to longtime meditators. Especially valuable are the Wednesday evening dhamma talks, which feature a diverse set of recognized community leaders and monastics from varying traditions. A rare and precious gem of a resource for contemplative development.
