I had a new keyless entry and reverse camera installed on a 2005 Toyota Tundra. Stuart was very helpful and knowledgeable helping me choose components. Nate was amazing with the install as he had to eliminate all of the after market components that were installed in 2005. Plus Nate had to get the driver side door lock working. Both Stuart and Nate were very communicative and wonderful!
After a whirlwind tour of shops, gathering ideas for my son's Christmas gift, I stumbled into the Bellevue Cartoys location, where I was warmly greeted by Stuart, who I suspect is the manager. It was like stepping into a friendly sitcom. We dove into a conversation about my son's 2014 Toyota Tacoma and his needs, which Stuart handled with the finesse of a seasoned detective. He then summoned Nate, the "Toyota guru," from the depths of the store. Nate's reputation was well-deserved, as his Tundra setup was nothing short of legendary. With Stuart's expertise, we embarked on a quest to find the perfect setup for my son. The dynamic duo's friendly and humorous banter was a delightful distraction, making the experience feel more like a comedy show than a shopping trip. I ended up spending more than planned, but I have no doubt my son will be thrilled with his gift. A big thank you to Stuart and Nate for their exceptional service and entertainment!
An employee made fun of me when he thought I couldn't hear him. More details below. I bought a new AV receiver (~$1200 after fees, labor costs, etc) from Car Toys' Bellevue location earlier this year for my Prius. I was happy with its performance, & at the time I was also happy with Car Toys' customer service. Fast forward several months... the Prius got into a fender bender earlier this week, & insurance told me they're unsure if its damage can be fixed. Bummer, but it happens. I started to plan for that possibility, which was an entirely new experience for me - I've lived most of my life in cities with subways, so there's a lot I still don't know about cars & car ownership. A friend encouraged me to call the same Car Toys location to ask if it was possible to extract the AV receiver from the Prius, in the hopes of installing it in my next car. Before I go on, I want you, reader, to close your eyes & picture the shyest person you know. Imagine that that person's life circumstances left her with a medley of different knowledge gaps compared to others her age, many of which she only discovered were gaps once she had to call upon that knowledge & realize she actually didn't know what to do. Imagine that she tries her best to teach herself everything she was never taught, but she's always secretly afraid that others will think she's stupid for having those knowledge gaps in the first place. Imagine the embarrassment & shame she has to overcome whenever she reaches out to ask someone for help or advice, because she knows other people probably don't need to ask for help in these situations. Now, imagine that this person - whose car-related ignorance had already been exploited multiple times ("just an oil change? Okay, that'll be $150") - screws up her courage to call Car Toys & ask about the above situation. That was me, yesterday. I kept the call on speakerphone, so my friend sitting with me could interject if I didn't know what to say. The call went well, at first, but the Car Toys employee didn't hang up the landline all the way after we said goodbye. Then, loud & clear, we heard him making fun of me & my situation to someone else, while my friend & I just looked at each other, speechless. This went on for a few minutes before I finally hung up. I called back, got the same employee, & told him I'd heard what he said. His response? "Oh... uh... sorry about that, I guess." Yeah. That sucked. I won't be going back.
I had an awesome experience getting a dash cam installed today. The professionalism was top-notch, and the work was impressive- no visible cords, and they delivered everything I requested. Huge thanks!
Greg and Adam were great! They both greeted me as soon as I walked in and helped me out right away. They were both super friendly and answered all my questions. I was unaware that they also do detailing and tint, I’ll definitely be making an appointment to get my car detailed.
