What a gem for Long Beach and surrounding areas this place is! I booked a private class with Teri to bake my husband a cake for his 40th birthday. I was super nervous because I don’t bake at all – I’ve never baked anything in my life before. But she walked me through every single step with clear explanations and background reasoning, which helped me understand the processes. She stepped in when I needed hands-on guidance. And overall, Teri was just a joy to work with and learn from. I ended the three hour class with the most amazing four tier cake that my husband was delighted by. He literally hasn’t stopped commenting on how delicious it is and how surprised he was! I would go and take more classes at the school in a heartbeat, and will be telling all my friends about this place.

It was my 12 year old daughter’s first time to join the baking class. She already likes baking and loved it even more when she learned how to make delicious and beautiful desserts like Passionfruit Tart, Pavlova, Cookie Dough Cupcakes and Mexican Wedding Cookies. I was so impressed with the presentation and she learned how to make everything from scratch. Highly recommend this school!

Where do I begin? From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the energy from the great folks of Chef Tech! We signed up for the summer kids camps and wow! Such a fun experience! The chefs and instructors are so welcoming and allow parents to take photos and videos of their kid (as long as your hair is tied back — and they provide hair ties too)!
You can tell a lot of thought, care, and attention is put into this camp. The recipes are challenging, yet simple enough for a 7 year old to follow. They are incredibly respectful to every child chef and bring a lot of bright positive energy to the kitchen. The kitchen is very clean, organized, and well laid-out. I was amazed at how delicious everything was!
The sign-ups fill up quickly! Make sure to check in with their website or email them if you’d want to find out more info. They also offer adult classes, but I have yet to try it out.

My daughter just completed baking camp and absolutely loved it! This class is designed for students of all levels. No previous baking experience required. The chefs taught students how to use professional equipment and all of the cakes looked and tasted amazing! The space is colorful, bright and inspiring. I plan to take adult classes and my daughter will take more classes as well in the near future. Would highly recommend! Photos of the cakes she created throughout the week.

I booked a private birthday party earlier this month with 14 girls ranging mostly from 5 to 9 years old, and it was a great experience! It was actually our first time there. I did some research online, communicated with Chef Tech via both email and phone call. Everything feels right, and then I just went with my gut feeling and booked the event, and I'm really glad I did that!
For the kid's birthday party, we chose to do pizza and cupcakes. Every kid gets to make their own pizza and two cupcakes. The cooking process took about 2 hours, and kids were definitely busy the whole time. Sometimes they were split into different teams in charge of different ingredients, (e.g. chopping garlic, shredding cheese, making sauce, and etc), and sometimes they would each work on their own pieces (e.g. They each make their own pizza dough, put toppings on their own pizza, and put icing on their own cupcakes.) After the meal was ready, kids had about 30-40 mins to eat and celebrate at the big table and just chat and relax. There was a separate area for parents to get together, while you can still see what kids are doing at the same time, which is very nice. We also ordered some parent platters to share while waiting. I didn't realize this in advance, that even the parent platters were made fresh during the party as well, so everything was right out of the oven and tasted amazing!
We had 3 chefs plus 3 other staff to help coordinate our event on the day. Chef Joseph and Chef JT were the primary instructors for our event, and they were so good with kids! They were both very patient and funny, and knew how to attract kids' attention. All the other staff are very nice and helpful as well. With so many kids trying to cook at the same time, it's basically like a war zone, but they were able to keep everything organized, clean, and under control. I'm very impressed!
My daughter and her friends had a great time there! This is probably the easiest party I've ever planned because Chef Tech pretty much took care of everything! The whole scheduling experience was very easy and pleasant. Matt was always very efficient in responding to all my questions. I'd totally recommend Chef Tech for private events, and we look forward to returning for more workshops in the future.
