My husband and I were flying into town on his birthday the Sunday after Christmas. We didn't have any reservations because we were not sure how we feel when we landed. We ended up wanting to go out for a quick dinner, called ahead, and they thankfully had open availability and told us to come right in. This was one of the BEST meals we have had in a very long time. The service and hospitality was unmatched. Specifically our waiter, Michael, took amazing care of us. We had told him that we were celebrating my husband's birthday. Unfortunately, it being after a holiday and at the end of the weekend, the entree that my husband wanted was sold out. Michael made our appetizer into an entree size, brought us both a fantastic glass of wine and this unreal bread basket with garlic ----all of which he had comped for us. As for the rest of the food, it was one of the best meals that we have had in a very very long time. Everything was delicious. The homemade bread is fresh and especially wonderful with the garlic. Additionally, the balsamic vinegar was amazing. My husband loved the octopus. The short rib pasta was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, practically melting into the sauce, and paired perfectly with the pasta. Lastly, the European sea bass was cooked to perfection, tasty, and fresh. To end the meal, Michael brought us the fried-to-order beignets. This was the perfect way to end my husband's birthday. The beignets were light, airy, and beautifully crisp on the outside while soft and fluffy on the inside. They immediately reminded us of puff puff, a beloved Nigerian treat from my husband’s culture. The texture and flavor were very similar, bringing a comforting, nostalgic feeling with every bite. It was such a meaningful way to end the night. We live out of town, but will 1000000% be back. Thank you!!!
Excellent service and delicious food. I had the octopus, lamb, and monkey bread for dessert. Octopus seasoning was perfect with flavors that lingered and built a slow heat. Lamb melted in your mouth and the pairings really complemented the flavors. Monkey bread was beautiful ( table side flambe preparation) and just as delicious. My husband got the fried rice which we wouldn't order again but everything else was so good that it more than compensated and I couldn't reduce my rating for it. Server was knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. Lovely restaurant. Great meal. Wish I knew about it sooner. We'll definitely return.
Went here for my birthday and the service was spectacular!! It wasn’t too crowded and the vibe was perfect 🤩 my only complaint is that they had a guy with a mic that was doing drink tasting with a group and was doing it on the microphone and everyone throughout the restaurant heard it whether or not you were a part which I thought was annoying. Other wise super yummy and takes care of their guests, they gave me desert in a glass 😋🤌🏾
Chez Bacchus absolutely blew us away. The halibut was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the flat iron steak was tender, juicy, and beautifully presented. We also had their espresso martinis—easily some of the best we’ve had anywhere. The ambiance was just as impressive—elegant yet relaxed, with the perfect lighting and music to set the tone for a great night out. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was the service. It was hands down the best service I’ve experienced at any restaurant in Long Beach in a very long time. Attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Chez Bacchus has definitely earned a spot at the top of our list, and we can’t wait to come back.
We went for their famous high tea on weekend during brunch. The tea is delicately prepared and well presented. The tower of high tea goodies is a good portion and a delight to consume. The clotted cream portion they served along the scones was very little. We asked for more and were served more thankfully. It was a great experience that I would recommend.
