We were drawn in by the elegant decor, and the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere. But isn't the food the most important thing about a restaurant? The portions at Tapas were priced the normal range—I understand the price for a downtown location, of course. But what I couldn't understand was that we walked in almost 4 PM, and there were still plenty of seats available. By 5 PM, the restaurant lights had dimmed. We were almost finished with our food, and a bottle of rose was almost gone. We were considering whether to order more dessert and drinks when the manager came over and told us that we only had 1.5 hours for dining, and if we wanted to stay longer, we could move to the bar. No one had mentioned the 1.5-hour time limit since we sat down. Then they told us we had 10 minutes to pay or move to the bar. This was a terrible, even discriminatory, experience. Looking around, we were the only two Asian people, and the manager hadn't mentioned the time limit to any other tables. Very bad experience, not recommend at all.
We were looking for a dinner spot around Piccadilly and decided to give Cicchetti a try after a quick Google search, and we’re really glad we did. The place is truly stunning, with a great atmosphere that feels perfect for sharing food and taking your time. The concept is all about ordering 4–5 medium-sized dishes to share, which we loved because it lets you try a bit of everything. The food was excellent overall. Standouts for us were the Burrata Pomodoro, Beef Carpaccio, Beef Cheek, Risotto Funghi, and the Ravioli Tartufo. Dessert was absolutely stunning and something I’d happily order again and again. Service was great, and our waiter Giuseppe was amazing, friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. If I had to mention one small thing, the Spaghetti Frutti di Mare was our least favourite as it didn’t have the bold flavor or visual wow we were expecting compared to similar dishes we’ve had elsewhere. Overall, great food, great service, and a beautiful setting right in Piccadilly. Definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a quality Italian spot with a sharing-style menu.
I absolutely love coming to Cicchetti for an intimate dinner that will never disappoint! Everything is tasteful, from the food and to the new refurbished decor. Every time I have went, I’m greeted with excellent and warm service, especially from lovely Giuseppe! Fortunately, I have had him look after our table many times and he always makes sure we are enjoying our meal! My favourite order is Pollo alla Milanese, bolognese with a smooth glass of Merlot. By the way ladies, the toilets are clean, pretty and make for the best quick selfies lol x
An exquisite culinary journey in the heart of London! San Carlo Cicchetti (Piccadilly) perfectly captures the essence of Venetian dining with a sophisticated, high-end touch. The ambiance is truly captivating from the classic marble tables to the elegant festive decorations, it feels like a step back into a refined European era. The gastronomy here is exceptional. We started with the Mushroom Bruschetta, which was perfectly toasted and rich in earthy flavors. The Sicilian Arancini were golden and crisp, leading into a superbly creamy Porcini Risotto that was cooked to perfection. A highlight for any connoisseur is seeing the Antica Formula on the bar a testament to their commitment to quality and tradition in every detail. Every small plate (cicchetti) was a masterpiece of presentation and taste. Whether you are looking for a romantic evening or a high-quality meal in a stunning setting, this is the place to be. Impeccable service and an atmosphere that exudes Gilded Age elegance. Highly recommended! ❤️
No doubts that this restaurant has a very nice decorative mood and interior that intrigues you to try it. Location wise they are also very central. Their menu has all options for all taste buds. Dishes are medium but that’s the concept, to share plates. The plates are neatly decorated. Taste is average I have to say. Staff are helpful
