The escape room had so much potential! Unfortunately, I've never had a worse experience in an escape room, and would easily reccomend any of the other dozens around Vancouver over this one. To start, I always judge an establishment by the quality of the restroom, and the cleanliness was an omen of things to come. The room was improperly reset before we started. After 15 minutes of struggling, the host confirmed that clues were missing, making the first puzzle impossible to solve. After another 10 minutes, we discovered that there was an additional malfunction. Finally we made it to the next room only to discover more malfunctioning equipment. It turns out we had correctly solved both puzzles in the first 5 minutes. For each subsequent puzzle, team Morale was tanked by the uncertainty about weather or not we were on the right track towards solving puzzles or if yet another gadget was broken.

Came on a Sunday evening, it was quiet so there was no wait to get into a free roam VR room. I enjoyed getting a private room instead of having to share it with strangers. It was chill and fun to just explore and try out different games. The staffs were nice and ready to assist if needed. There are lockers to store away jackets and bags 👍

My visit at CypherX was disappointing to say the least. As someone who has gone to multiple escape rooms and even works at one, I wasn’t impressed with the Game of Thrones theme. There were a total of two rooms only and although the second room wasn't all that bad, I will only be talking about the first room as the majority of the time spent was in there. First of all, the room’s lighting was extremely dim making it really frustrating to do the puzzles where most of the time, you would need to be reading small texts, logos or trying to make out slightly faded colors important to the solution. This would all have been fine, if only lights were provided like every other escape room does. Secondly, unsure if this was a mechanical delay or failure, there were a few times where we attempted a puzzle multiple times just for the compartment to already have been opened somewhere else with no sound indicator. Other times, compartments would open up after retrying the exact same solution after 5 minutes causing us to lose a significant amount of time. Lastly, the whiteboard that the room provided was practically breaking apart. The marker was even slowly losing its ink, making note-taking much more annoying. This wasn’t the biggest deal but with all the other frustrations I mentioned, it really built up to be a not very good experience. Overall, the theme was cool at first glance but I slowly started to realize how lackluster and empty the room really was. I really wanted to enjoy my experience here, but I can’t really recommend the Game of Thrones. Hopefully the other themes and experiences they offer are better.

My wife and daughter and I had a wonderful experience in the Jumanji room. It was fun and exciting and the staff was friendly and supportive. Excellent customer service and engaging activity for family. We will come back. We solve the room with 25 seconds to go.

I’ve been to a few escape rooms now and this place is awesome. Super friendly front desk and it was relatively quiet when we went so didn’t have to wait to get in (we were walk-ins). Waiver process was painless (scan a QR code and complete on mobile). The room itself was well thought out and well designed, we chose the game of thrones themed room and they replicated the iron throne as a game prop! We over-estimated our abilities for a medium-difficulty room and front desk gave us extra time to figure it out so that was appreciated.
