I have been working with Tim Dempsey for a long time, earlier we worked on my posture imbalances, later on my postpartum recovery, correct breathing, deep core activation and again on my posture. Tim uses a variety of techniques and including PRT, DNS that are very effective. A year postpartum, I had become stronger than before my first pregnancy. He helped me to get back to weight lifting in a safe and gradual way. Currently I am seeing Tim during my second pregnancy and I still feel great and strong at 30 weeks. I can’t recommend Tim enough, he is always 100% present, focused, and each session is tailored to meet exactly my needs. We had set goals and we have met them! He assess and uses devices to measure progress so you can truly see how far you’ve got. Tim always provides pictures and instructional videos on how to practice specific exercises at home.
I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Competitive Edge. A friend of mine referred me to Competitive Edge because I was looking for someone to help me address chronic pain in my hip due to a limp I have had my whole life. They determined that working with Tim doing PRS (postural restoration) and DNS was the best path for me. I didn’t know anything about either of the systems or what benefits they would bring. But in the first session, Tim identified much bigger issues than my limp. He developed a strategy for addressing issues that I didn’t even name such as chronic stress, chronic activation of my sympathetic nervous system, Vertigo, and dizziness . I’d have to say that the most profound benefit I have received from this work with Tim is how much better I feel in my body. He has taught me how to breathe and be more grounded, which has resulted in a profound shift. I feel so much more at ease and relaxed, which is something that has eluded me my whole life. He has also helped me resolve my chronic issues with vertigo and dizziness. I didn’t know how good I could feel until I started to experience the benefits of this work. And all of this in just six weeks. Tim has also developed a plan to teach me how to walk again and I can feel the benefits already even though I know there’s still more work ahead. Six weeks into my program and it has already exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend Tim and competitive edge more highly.
I am an active runner and basketball player over 20 years. Suffered from chronic knee pain for recent years to the point that I have to stop doing what I like. I reached out to competitive edge for help. Dr. Lexi and staff really turn it around within 2 months of program! They quickly identified the root cause of my knee pain, which turned out to be solius strains, and with their rebab program, I came from not able to move freely, to be able to do regular exercises and basketball with better shape. I am very thankful to Dr. Lexi, and highly recommend competitive edge for anyone like me!
After suffering from a herniated discs injury for 3.5 years, including 3 setbacks, and making connections between my deteriorating health- from childhood oral cavity/postural development and then the revelation of my horrific mistake of retractive orthodontics as a late teenager, my research led me to the postural restoration institute (PRI). Prior to any jaw surgeries, I knew I needed to see an experienced practitioner with a global understanding of the body, movement, breathe and could help me stabilize, strengthen and regain core mobility and wake up my brain. I called Competitive Edge because I found Tim Dempsey on the PRI website, his profile and experience seemed to fit my need perfectly. I called and the fellow who answered the phone said he was the man. So I invested in a package of 12 sessions and about 3/4 through I have made great improvement in my core stability, pain levels, my diaphragmatic breathing and energy levels. Tim is experienced, brilliant, a great communicator, not dogmatic in his approach, and his focus on athletics and injury rehab makes him a great person for anyone who isn’t satisfied with believing the limitations of medical diagnoses, or those who want to see results from their efforts .
Highly recommend!! I have been to a number of physical therapy places and Competitive Edge has a wonderfully unique approach. Courtney and Michael provide hands-on, one on one instruction that build from one session to the next. I even receive interim communications from them to see how I’m doing. Their positive and uplifting demeanor provides encouragement along the way. I like how they clearly explain how our bodies work and why we are doing the recommended exercises. After five years of chronic back pain I’m seeing results because of this team and have hope for an active life that I didn’t have before. If you are having physical problems, I highly recommend giving Competitive Edge serious consideration.
