I’ve been taking my son there for about four/five weeks. The therapist forgot to reschedule our sessions, and overall, I didn’t feel very comfortable with the way we were treated. It just didn’t feel very personal.
The therapist is GOOD; however, the (Blanco St.)front office and billing department need IMPROVEMENT. So that you know, questions are not answered promptly and accurately. I emailed to ask why I was being billed BEFORE services, and whoever is answering my emails is keeping me at bay and running me around in circles. It has been over 8 hours, and I still don't have an answer.
I had an excellent experience with Counseling4Life! My counselor and the front office staff were always incredibly professional and understanding. As a student, the scholarship was an invaluable option that enabled me to access this resource. I hope to continue sessions again soon. I can't thank them enough! :)
My daughter’s counselor was excellent - we appreciated her Catholic-based approach. However, she was paying for her counseling sessions herself as a university student, and - when her university discounted rate for the counseling sessions expired - she was told her sessions would be roughly $60 per session with her insurance. Instead, however, her sessions were almost DOUBLE that amount, and she did not find this out until the charges (for three sessions!) were automatically charged to her credit card on file. This is completely unacceptable. The counseling staff and back/front office should never have agreed to schedule more sessions without being completely transparent with her BEFOREHAND about the ACTUAL cost of her sessions. This is very unprofessional and very unethical.
I have been going to Counseling4life and seeing Ms. Sarah Keen. I have had therapy in the past and didn't really get much benefit from it. This time around I was able to find someone that took the time to listen and was genuinely interested and showed concern. It's as if we are a team together slowly addressing things and taking the time to explore realistic goals. I was in a very dark place when I started and for the first time in almost two decades I am starting to see the light. I recommend Ms. Keen to anyone looking for someone that is not judgmental and will work with you at your own pace to address trauma or life issues in general. She deserves a big raise!!
