My son and I became members of the Da Firma Training Center family a month ago. Professor Ricardo & Professor Heidi are simply amazing and talented at jiu jitsu! Not only that, the family environment they have created makes your journey that much more enjoyable. I've made the best decision to come here. Come on by and see for yourself.

My husband started here first and it wasn’t long before it became a family thing. Now our son and myself train here as well. I can’t say enough about how amazing this academy is! It is family oriented, judgement free, woman friendly, and inclusive to all no matter what fitness level you’re at. Professor Ricardo has said, “Jiu Jitsu is for everyone.” & at his academy he lives by that. For our son (5 yrs. old) - BJJ has been beneficial for his physical health, confidence and overall mental attitude. The bonus is the peace of mind we get knowing he is learning ways to defend himself, as well as learning character building lessons and forming bonds with his peers. For me - BJJ has given me a positive outlet for my physical, mental, and emotional health. It is in many ways therapy. As a woman I always feel safe training here. There is a huge female presence on our team and you can almost always find a female training partner during class. & there is also an amazing Woman’s Only class every Saturday morning. I don’t want to fail to mention that I feel safe training with anybody in our gym because we are taught to take care of each other. Safety is of the upmost importance on the mat and so is respect. So, if you want to train BJJ & learn self defense but also be apart of an academy where you won’t feel judged, where you can feel safe & be apart of a family - this is the place!

Started training with my hubby earlier this year and everyone is super supportive! Jiujitsu is great for mental health and I love the fact that you can come as often as you like with your membership. There is also gym equipment that can be used as a member which is a huge plus for me! The family is amazing, and they offer an all women’s class which is super helpful for developing your foundation when you are new.

If you're looking to learn Jiu Jitsu in a safe, fun, and welcoming environment look no further. De Firma Training Center is an outstanding facility with an enormous area for training and an incredible team of instructors who truly care about improving your knowledge in Jiu Jitsu. In addition, having been a veteran it was great to connect with Ricardo Tubbs (Black Belt, Owner, and Veteran) and the large contingent of veterans and Active Duty personnel he has training there. Everyone I met while training were truly welcoming and excellent training partners. I always felt safe and not at risk for injury. If your considering De Firma Training Center to learn Jiu Jitsu I cannot recommend them enough.

This place is great and I say that for many reasons, but before I go on with this review, I have to give you 2 warings: 1. Jiu jitsu is very addicting, 2. if you and up training here you are not just joining a sport , your joining a family ( a funny and very weird family, pictures provided below as proof) the teachers and fellow students provide an atmosphere that makes learning easy and fun, while being challenged at the same time. everyone here does a very excellent job of leaving their ego at the door and just training for the art and self. Before I started here I shopped around and I chose this gym because it had many of the qualities I was looking for: 1. it's a good and (very clean) gym 2. no limit to training. If there is a Jiu Jitsu class (that you qualify to be in, which was way more classes than i thought) you can participate. 3. You get a REALLY nice Gi (uniform) when you sign up 4. They have a seperate Judo class (included) 5. Legit (proven) self defence techniques. Gi and no gi training 6. The Professor: Ricardo Tubbs(head instructor) was taught directly by a Gracie. If you are familiar with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, its kind of a big deal =] 7. Hosted amazing seminars with Top Jiu Jitsu people from all over (ie Royce Gracie just to name one.) Needless to say I highly recommend this place, if your considering starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu you should check Da Firma Training Center.(DTC).
