Darcie and Emily were wonderful to work with! They assisted my family in purchasing our beautiful home in Portland, always being responsive, positive and considerate. They offered well thought out expert points of view and respected our points of view as well, which was very important to us. The Internet has changed many industries. At this point, you can shop for homes from across the country, perhaps even track down enough information to minimize physically shopping before making an offer. Though in general, it won't cost you anything to have a real estate agent as a buyer, are they still worthwhile? Damn straight they are, and Darcie Alexander of the PDX Green Team is a great example. Especially when coming from out of the area, it is key to have someone who is honest about the market, honest about the pluses and minuses of various neighborhoods, and who provides an honest critical assessment of a given property. I get that some people are less interested in the last item, but I think having an independent view can break the "tunnel vision" that can occur when shopping and is very important for the most expensive purchase one can make. Darcie was brilliant in all of this. Even when we went to a house our own, if it was a place we were considering, we wanted her opinion and would go back a second time with her. Once we made an offer, she was with us every step of the way and was ALWAYS quickly accessible. We had a lot of back and forth with the sellers and various negotiations, and Darcie kept us from losing our minds. Thanks to collaboration with Darcie, we ended up with a better house and a better deal than any of us had even hoped for. The final touch was sparkling wine waiting as we entered our new home after two full moving travel days. That was a thoughtful welcome I will not forget.
