Just completed a wonderful day touring with Jarrett. He is a Bass Lake local and he was an excellent tour guide for my family of 10 (83, 82, 58, 57, 23, 20, 44,45, 8, 10). We ALL had a great day - He was very well versed on the geology of the valley as well as the interesting lifecycle of the trees and the local history of both the surrounding towns and the park. We also thoroughly enjoyed his tour highlights, family friendly "hikes" and options for the day exploring. He has been hiking the park/area for many years and continues to do so with his family, so it was great for the kids in our group to climb around lesser crowded areas and feel "special". Highlights noted from our family group: seeing the Ansel Adams photo site, the secret Sequia (hiding in plain site), explaining the brass contour maps, noting the old stagecoach trail, personal stories of his experiences on the trails, "Where's Waldo" (ask him), additionally, he wasn't pushy and seemed more like a friend showing us around vs. a regular tourguide. Highly recommend him.
My husband and I chose Yosemite for our honeymoon, and it was our first time visiting. so booking a tour was definitely the right choice. We went with Discovery Yosemite and had an amazing experience with our driver and guide, Phillip Ireland. He was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. He took us to Mariposa Grove, where we learned all about the majestic sequoia trees, and then to Tunnel View, absolutely breathtaking. We explored Yosemite Valley and even visited the “swinging bridge” (which, as Phillip joked, doesn’t actually swing—lol). His sense of humor made the trip even more enjoyable! Saw beautiful waterfalls. Another place was Glacier Point. Along the way, we got to see El Capitan, and Phillip brought out his binoculars and telescope so we could watch the climbers scaling the granite walls—such a unique touch. The tour covered so much and gave us the perfect overview, which really helped us feel confident exploring on our own the next day. The park is massive—it can take about four hours to drive from one end to the other—so having a guide to show us the highlights was invaluable. We highly recommend Discovery Yosemite, especially if it’s your first visit and you’re not sure where to begin. The scenery is otherworldly, and we’re already planning to come back next year!
This was a great way to see Yosemite National Park. The tour takes care of all the details so the only thing you have to think about is enjoying the sites. Tyler was our tour guide and did an amazing job of guiding us. He was kind, informative, friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful.

Great experience! Our tour guide was Chad Davis and he was phenomenal. We could tell he has a real passion for the area, the nature, and the history. He was extremely helpful with practical suggestions for everything from restrooms to restaurants! We enjoyed his humor and insights. The lunch served was better than we expected and hit the spot. They easily and graciously accommodated our gluten free request with a hearty sandwich on the best gluten free bread.
