Excellent location and spacious room but sadly it seems the heating of the room not working so was cold, the bath tub water from hot tap just luke warm, the shower seems need some decorative work (see pictures) then oddly the next day - I didn't ask / do online check out but a staff knocked the door then just came in which was. peculiar and unexpected so the whole experience quite disappointing, standard breakfast like every other hotel - good, firm/comfy bed but pillows were so soft...I was there only a night so not bothered to feedback
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Liverpool is one of my favourite hotels when staying in Liverpool city centre. The location is good, it’s located very close to Lime Street Station, just off Whitechapel on Sir Thomas St, buses stop almost outside the hotel, and many of the city’s attractions, including Albert Dock and Liverpool One are close by. The hotel is located in a grand, old building, and it felt like I was staying in a palace, walking down the grand staircase. It made me feel like royalty. As a Gold Hilton Honors member, I was given a small upgrade. I liked my room, it was comfortable and quiet, and it had everything I needed for a short stay. The bathroom was large and had a standalone bath and shower. The bed was comfortable, but it seemed the pillows had seen better days, and I needed way too many of them just to get comfortable. No welcome drink/gift here, which I sometimes get from other properties, but given the excellent room rates, that’s OK for me. I did sleep well; the smaller corridors and rooms being spaced out from each other meant there wasn’t much noise from other rooms, and one noise issue I had during my stay was swiftly dealt with. I didn’t like the Bar/Restaurant area; it lacked atmosphere and seemed a little dreary. Breakfast was also served too early for my liking, so I decided not to take advantage of it. The room rates here are very reasonable; it is often the cheapest full-service Hilton-branded property in the city, and I actually prefer this one too. The staff are friendly and were helpful with requests when I needed them. I liked this property and would return again, mainly down to the comfort, location and value for money.
This was a last minute booking due to train issues. We had no idea what to expect, as Doubletree's can vary in quality and age. The hotel is older, but in good shape. It's in a good location (three blocks from the train station) and we felt comfortable there walking around at night. Service was very good. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. We ate at the bar that evening, and the wait staff there, especially the waitress serving us, were very friendly. We felt very comfortable there hanging out and relaxing after a long day. The room was very good - big, bathrooms were clean, beds and pillows were fine. Our only hiccup was our door being pounded on at 4AM by someone who mistakenly thought he was staying in our room. Once he was corrected by his traveling companion, he stopped pounding. Alcohol may have been involved in his actions. I'm not sure what the security situation is in the hotel, or he was a guest, but I was a bit surprised that all the noise he generated didn't get picked up on by the staff. We didn't report the issue until the next day. Overall, a good experience and we would stay there again.
Lovely hotel with nice spacious room and king bed. Location was perfect for stay to attend a wedding which was close by. Enjoyed our night and had a perfect sleep in a very quite room. Reception staff were lovely and helpful. Especially Conny and a New Zealand guy on the night desk.
Got a last min reservation after some issues with another property. Despite being last min, check in was a breeze. Front desk staff member was very nice and friendly (feel bad I missed his name). Few minutes in and it clicked me that this doesn’t seem like a Hilton owned property, quick check on ChatGPT confirmed that. It’s a franchise so don’t expect same level, this is not the regular Doubletree that us Americans are used to. It’s a historical building and apparently well maintained, they renovated the bathrooms but not the rooms, which show clear need of TLC. Carpet and furniture are well beyond their limits, should have been replaced like 7y ago. Room had a fridge that didn’t work, called front desk but they couldn’t do anything. Breakfast is a Hampton Inn level at best, it was included in my stay due to my gold status but if I had to pay I have to say it’s not worth it. I’m not a fan of coffee chains but even Costa Coffee nearby has better coffee and sandwich for less than the breakfast charge. Fitness center was small but never crowded. Equipment also very old but at least worked. The location is great with easy access to everything. Really short and walk to royal Albert docks and museum. Most of the staff was very friendly, except for 1 on the front the desk one day.
