I have been going to DTM Computers for years and they are always reliable and professional. I recently went to get my laptop fixed due to an update that made it inaccessible. DTM got it fixed quickly and with no problems.
They were very patient, kind and super helpful!! I felt like they really cared about helping me figure out the issues with my laptop. Got everything resolved and I was able to do what I needed. They relieved a mound of stress and I'm greatful! Will definitely use them again!
My bad for not reading the reviews of the new ownership team before taking a laptop in for a new keyboard. I was told 5-7 business days. 12 business days later, and I still had not heard from them, so I called. I was told the keyboard was ordered and they were waiting. The following day, I received a call saying the laptop was repaired and ready. I arrived only to discover the backlight on the new keyboard was not working (shouldn't that have been tested?). It was suggested that maybe the new keyboard wasn't backlit. I had to point out the FN function for F9 clearly showed it controlled the backlight for the keyboard. So, it was a wasted trip (and gas). The next day, they called to say they couldn't figure out why the keyboard wouldn't light up. I told them never mind, I'll figure it out myself. I paid for the "repair" and was wished a "good day." Except they forgot to give me my power cord. Fortunately, I realized their error before leaving the store. When I pointed that out, it took some searching around for them to locate it. When I got home and opened the laptop, I noticed a deep scratch about 6" in length on the keyboard cover. The lighting must not have been sufficient to see it when I opened the machine at DTM. As if all that wasn't enough, the "zero" on the number keypad on the new keyboard doesn't work. It works as an "Ins" function even with the "Num Lock" engaged. No, I am not going back there. I suggest no one go there. Ever. Absolutely terrible, inept, service.
First experience meeting the new owner and staff was fine, but due to some oversight on their part they replaced the wrong drive in my computer and have left me with an open-box replacement drive, two weeks without my primary workhorse PC, and Matt chose not to install the replacement after causing the problem and telling me he was being nice by not charging me to fix his screw-up. The recovery copy of my old files he made is incomplete and I'm only hoping there's cloud copies that are recent. 10+ years using this company, and I've always recommended people go there. It's going to be a while before I feel up to risking using them again. I hope this is a unique event and no one else has this kind of experience.
Paid $200 here in June for a new laptop screen. Within a month it failed. I brought it back in August — they kept it for 3 weeks, then told me the screen that DTM installed was bad but refused to take responsibility because of “new ownership.” To make it worse, they wouldn’t release the laptop until I paid a surprise $40 diagnostic fee for them to repeat to me what I told them when I dropped it off: the screen is malfunctioning. New owner shows zero accountability — I would not trust them with another repair. Definitely not the past DTM that earned a 4.6 rating.
