Really enjoyed our visit to Franco Manca. The food was great (the Napoli pizza - simple but delicious - and the chilli oil is SPICY). However, what makes this place stand out is the friendly and cheerful staff (mind you, it is Liverpool - probably the friendliest city in the UK). Very busy on a Saturday night indicating that many agree with my sentiments (if not my exact words). Pizza All Stars 10/10

Terrible. Very slow. Waiting 90 minutes for the food to arrive. Staff seem more interested in serving deliveroo Uber eats bicycles and leaving actual diners in the restaurant waiting forever. Really unacceptable slow service. Waiting for a terrible long time never again. Staff rushed off their feet with none stop deliveries. Diners just ignored not important.

Amazing pizza! I ordered the Number 4, and the crust was absolutely perfect. The staff were super friendly, and Joe, who served us, made sure everything was fast and flawless. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

The pizza was outstanding and my brother stated the pizza dough was excellent and “the best bread ever”!! But besides from the dough the actual pizza was so good all the flavours melted deliciously on my tongue 😋😋😋 please visit this restaurant it’s incredibly priced AND we even got free cheesecake on the house (which was delicious)

I tried Franco Manca once before, in Brighton in 2018. I thought then that the menu was very small. Looking back now, that seems an odd reason to ignore a whole chain… 😆 Perhaps it was the Brighton factor - it was in the marina, after all, and that was quite a strange place. Anyhow, Liverpool is not Brighton and I was looking for a different type pizza, that wasn’t Pizza Express, and spotted this new branch in Bold Street. It’s in the famous shop premises that used to be Rennies, much beloved of locals. I never went there but feel I should also mourn it. I decided to go for it. I am capable of challenging my own opinions, with the passing of time, it seems…. Quiet inside, so a choice of table. Yay. By the wall it was. Love me a wall seat. The menu offered an abundance of choice for a hungry Deerdog - ordered an amatriciana pizza. This features an unusual sauce made with tomato, onion & cured pork cheek. It has a lively hint of spice to it. You can order it extra spicy, but one step at a time 😛 A garlic dip on the side. This was unusual. Fresh tasting. Nice. Chilli oil on the table, like a little bottle of fire waiting to be lit. A Diet Coke sealed the deal. I didn’t look at the beers, but they were real. This week, I am respecting my liver, in anticipation of an abundance of alcohol next week of which it will disapprove. Service was quick and efficient, I watched them prepare and cook my pizza. An open kitchen, so often a scary thing to observe, came into its own here. The price was very low, just £14 for the pizza. Wow. Reasonable, tasty and quick. You like to see it. There were starters, but they seemed very similar to pizza, only in different shapes. On this occasion, I passed. Overall a good experience. Two paws up and I’ll definitely be back in future.
