Overall: 7/10, easily could be top tier with a small adjustments. Going to ride it out 6 months and then see if they get their stuff together to justify the premium pricing. Biggest improvement needed is sanitization / cleanliness. 1. Hours on the weekend suck for the midtown location: Closing at 6:00 PM on the weekend is ridiculous honestly. It says 8:00 online and that should be standard. Also, worth adding the guy who told us they were closed / closing while we were on the track was rude. He was just unprofessional. There was probably 20 people there and more trying to come in while we were leaving. 2. One cleaning supply station for the main gym area (area is huge), is really unsanitary. No one is cleaning their equipment because of this. 3. Steam room tile was layed incorrectly (did this work personally before) so water / sweat builds up and just sits on the bench seating made of tile. Needs to be sprayed or something multiple times a day because it is gross. Same hair is in there for multiple days and gum / hair in the showers for multiple days. I am a creature of habit so I notice these things because I use them over and over. 4. Some of the machines are in rough shape considering how new it is. Crazy to spend all that money and not just get three new machines. Specifically the leg machines and the ab workout machines. Suggestions: - Brush up staffs professional / customer service skills - Expand the hours on the weekend, people who use the gym dont want 9A - 6P. Poor service. -Clean high contact areas: showers, steam rooms, equipment should be cleaned daily throughly and touched up through out the day. They do come through and grab the towels that people leave laying around for some reason, but there are some bigger issues than the towels. You have three people at the front desk, and a few people just sitting in their offices chatting upstairs. They can tidy up with out adding payroll expense easily. -When you are having an issue the front desk staff cant help. Asked when a service was going to be fixed nicely and the response was friendly but exact words ... Ugh, let me make sure I use the right verbiage because I will get in trouble, one moment." called someone to ask how to tell me it was down correctly 😳😂 So much potential is there, just need to get it right for the premium price point.

*Update* ALL toilets, urinals, and showers in the gym are still not working after 3.5 weeks. Genesis said they would be up and running on May 1, and of course they weren’t. This is completely unacceptable. The “new” Genesis Health Club has shut down ALL toilets, urinals, and showers in the gym on every level for men and women. The toilets and showers have been shut down for 1.5 weeks already with no end in sight. There are only 2 port a pots in the alley which is not even close to an adequate number for the amount of people using the gym and are not handicap accessible. People have had problems trying to reach the port a pots since they are not near the front entrance. There is also a very strong sewer gas smell within the entry and different levels of the gym. Feces are flowing out of the coffee shop on the lower level. This is a major health hazard for everyone that goes to the gym and to the general public.

Maybe don’t open the new location before the indoor plumbing works. Nsvigating the chaos of parking was bad enough. I’ve been a member for more than 10 years, didn’t know that finally fixing a urinal at one gym meant no working plumbing at all at another. I would have just gone to Aksarben but Genesis closed it.

For years, I held onto my midtown Genesis membership waiting for the day that they finally built the new gym. I waited through half-lit areas, leaking ceilings, fallen mirrors, warped floors, constantly broken machines, and disgusting locker rooms. I waited and waited hoping that it would be worth it. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s not. While it may look shiny and new during a quick tour, there’s still an abundance of broken machines. Also, I understand that there are things out of management’s control (such as feces leaking from the walls), but where’s the communication on these plumbing issues? Give us updates so that we maybe have something to look forward to as we make eye contact with a grown man coming out of a back alley port-a-potty. Not to mention that there are never any towels, which means no one ever wipes down their machines. I held off writing this review because I want to love it here- I really do. I love the location, I love the people/community, and I love the staff. I think there’s so much potential for greatness, but I’m just not sure anymore if I’m willing to wait around for it.

Editing my review because they are not fixing the sewage smell that has now happened multiple times in two months. You have to walk through sewage coming from the garage, and you can see the sewage sitting on the floor of the old coffee shop. Also they don't have equipment towels half the time you visit. Edit - All the toilets have now been out of service for a week

I’ve been a member at this location for a few years. I had mixed feelings about what the new gym would bring and I was correct. I’m not dogging on the major plumbing issues, because things can happen and I’m no plumber. However. Four months in and still no washer and dryer. 15 minutes after opening there’s no one at the front desk. There are no small towels upstairs. One of the brand new cable machines had a pulley disconnected. Fox News is on every other tv. I don’t want any news on the TV’s, let alone that propaganda. We’ve got smartphones. Turn on ESPN and let it roll. There are dried pee stains on the floor in the bathrooms. Let me clarify, the employees that work are FANTASTIC. I’ve never had a single complaint with any of them. It’s the fact that we pay a good amount of money and the new facility is already dirty, smells, is breaking down, and severely understaffed. Genesis is here to make money with as few expenses as possible. Front staff, trainers, and class coaches are great. Ownership is lacking.
