If I could give this gym 10 stars I would. Amazing people and environment filled with very skilled passionate coaches. However, if you’re sensitive this isn’t a place for a pansy. Tough love is given not to be rude but to make u better, & to keep u and others safe that’s why it is so important. Welcoming environment in person filled with great people & very skilled coaches who want to make the best you can be. Also loved how it was opened to anyone, regardless of anything. You are wanted and appreciated. Great sense of humor with a very fun upbeat environment with coaches who genuinely care. Will return!

This is not your average gym. When I travel, I love to try out new gyms. This one surprised me. Professor Jeff’s approach is quite different than all the schools I’ve trained at. If you’re looking for street effective jiujitsu this is your place. Professor Jeff has lived out what he teaches as a bouncer and delivers his techniques in easy to follow steps. The members were welcoming. Environment is very casual and laid back. Nothing traditional about it. Just pure effectiveness. I would definitely recommend it with one caveat. If you are easily offended this is not your place. There is plenty busting your chops and good hearted fun. Be ready to train and to laugh. Thanks for the opportunity to train with you all. Very welcoming! Jeff is very knowledgeable and willing to teach! He does not mind showing you the correct way of doing things. He is a hands on teacher with was great for me. I recommend that anyone(man, woman, or child) wanting to learn jiu jitsu check out Ground Control!

I have been a student of Jeff (the black belt professor) for 5 years and I cant say enough good things about him! He has a very thorough style and top notch instruction. Everyone at the gym is always super welcoming to new faces, and I quickly felt at home. Jeff is the realest guy you will ever meet, and sincerely cares about his students on and off the mats. If you are ever in the area I HIGHLY suggest you pay GC a visit.
