I travel here frequently for business (over a dozen stays now!) and Hayes Mansion is my go-to. It offers the perfect balance: the service is highly efficient for work, but the atmosphere feels like a relaxing resort rather than a standard high-rise. The property is always well-maintained, but my recent stay near Christmas was stunning. The decorations were incredible—it really shows how much care they put into the property to create a warm, festive vibe for guests. Most importantly, the staff makes the difference. The restaurant and bar are great, and the breakfast team is super nice—they truly make me feel at home when I’m away from home. A huge thank you to Erin Beadle and her team for running such a wonderful operation.

Pros: Staff were all very friendly and welcoming The hotel is surrounded by a very lovely park Cons: We stayed in a room in the building next to the main mansion that you check in at. We shortened our stay to just one night after only an hour because of the atmosphere of the room and building. So dark and very, very poorly lit. We asked if the other rooms were similar and they said they would be in terms of how insanely dark each room is. The carpet was heavily stained in the room too. It reminded me more of a run down college dorm building than a hotel. The restaurant staff were very friendly, but the food was mediocre at best.

Reasonably priced rooms in an old mansion setting. Probably the best hotel in San Jose for dogs. Plenty of grass areas and adjacent park. Nice staff - Jackie at the front desk was exceptional. She changed us to a ground floor room (for the dog) and was very nice about it. It's an event space, both times we stayed here included large weddings and a Google party (lot of fancy cars). None were noisy. On site restaurant was very good.

My issue with service was mostly before I arrived, I had a few questions that could not be answered by the woman at the front desk when I called. In arrival, Hector was helpful with picking up a parking pass for my car. $20 a night. There were weddings, baby showers, and company events while we stayed. The rooms were spacious. Art work was a bit creepy in some spots. Game room had a good amount of games. There were a lot of nice outdoor seating options including fire pit. The building was beautiful and there were a lot of spots to sit semi-privately.

This hotel was perfect for our family of four. The hotel itself was lovely and the rooms were very comfortable. My kids loved the heated pool, and we enjoyed the hot tub. We ate at the buffet breakfast, and even used the gym. The staff (particularly Mel) went above and beyond to make our stay easy, comfortable, and fun! I'd suggest going to the hotels website directly to book, as there are a lot of specials to take advantage of. We did the Winchester Mystery House tour and it did not disappoint. And if you're looking for a venue for any type of party, I imagine this would be a lovely place to have it! We will definitely be back, and I would highly recommend!
