If I ac giving them negative star I would the claim there is no discrimination at this school when applying but let me tell you they DO need to start a law suit against them
Any color would do whether we cut raw meat or vegetables. Apparently this isn't what you'd do in a real kitchen and can get you fired. Just failed a pre-screen test for cutting board colors and why they're used. Even prep cooks need to know this information because : "Different cutting board colors are used to prevent cross-contamination and allergic reactions between different types of food" Maybe after this review they'll add it to their curriculum to prevent food borne illness.
Went into the prep cook pre-apprenticeship program not knowing what to expect for a free beginners program, ended up getting more than I expected. I learned the basics of working and cooking in a professional kitchen. The friendly and caring staff also help with one on one support to help you find a job after finishing the program. I plan on taking their line cook program in the future. Didn't even have to pay for the food handlers certificate.
HTA is amazing the classes are small so you get plenty of time to work with the chefs they do an excellent job of teaching you how to convert kitchen math ,knife skills, hotel pan sizes and everything you need to know in a kitchen it's a fun place and everyone in the office and the kitchen is always willing to help you achieve your goals.
