I was in town for a weekend and dropped in for a class and it was amazing. Great instructor and and really nice atmosphere. Would def come back
Okay, this studio gets it. Hot Box in El Paso is the real deal when it comes to hot classes — no gimmicks, no fluff, just pure fire (literally). I dropped in for a hot Pilates class, and from the moment I walked in, everyone was smiles, greetings, and genuine warmth. The vibe was welcoming, the energy was high, and the class? Next level. I’ve taken a lot of hot Pilates and yoga over the years, but never with a male instructor — and wow, he absolutely delivered. From start to finish, the class was intentional, challenging, and perfectly balanced. We used bands, dumbbells, blocks, and towels — everything was provided, which I love. The room was dark, the music was vibey (think transient EDM that keeps you in the zone), and the heat was real. This isn’t infrared — it’s that old-school, steamy, humid heat that pushes you past your limits. Pro tip: hydrate hard 24–48 hours before you go. Bring a big water bottle (or two). I had to sit out part of the squat series because I started to feel lightheaded — but the instructor immediately noticed, turned a fan on me, and checked in multiple times. That level of attentiveness is rare. He even handed out chilled, essential-oil-soaked towels at the end of class and pressed them gently on our eyes and temples while cueing deep breaths. All the senses were hit. There’s no shower (well they’ve removed the knobs so you cannot access the shower , when I asked about the shower the owner explained how hard it would be to manage 1 shower and 2 classrooms full of folks wanting to use shower- which I totally get ), but there are three bathrooms — two downstairs and one upstairs , plenty of places to change clothes after class— plus a massive room & cubby area to drop your stuff so it never feels crowded. The studio itself is beautiful, with a bold mural at the front and such a great community vibe. A regular even helped me out mid-class — total team energy. This is not a beginner-friendly class, and I mean that in the best way. It’s intense, sweaty, and humbling — exactly what you want when you sign up for something called Hot Box. I’ve practiced yoga for about 20 years all over the country, and this studio officially made my top three nationwide. The drop-in fee was $30, and it was worth every penny. My only regret? Not snagging that cute Hot Box sweater before class (front desk was empty afterward). Lesson learned: buy your swag before you get drenched. If you’re looking for a studio that’s tough, authentic, and packed with good vibes — Hot Box is it. Come hydrated, come ready, and come to sweat.
Very first yoga experience...green as a freshly mowed lawn! For some context, I’ve been wanting to practice yoga for years, primarily to achieve the goal of touching my toes. Back in the early 2000s, I moved to Europe, and a few years later, I met my best friend who is really into yoga and now lives in New Mexico. He took his first yoga class in El Paso with a guy named Matt at Hot Box. Fast forw2ard to January this year, I had to move from Europe to Chicago, and last weekend, I flew down to hang out with my friend, who brought me to my first-ever yoga class. In class, moments before Matt begins, I find myself neighbored next to a lovely Asian lady who seemed to radiate calm. We exchanged pleasantries, and I admitted, “I’m new and have never done yoga.” Without missing a beat, she sweetly chirped, “This is Pilates with a smile.” I replied, “Never done that one either…” To which she gave me the sweetest look and said, “you’re going to pass out!” not too much longer, just a few poses later, I was this close to meeting my maker! But fear not! My yoga guardian angel reminded me to control my breathing. Later she even said, “This is addictive.” And she was right! Now I’m back in Chicago and have already booked four classes for this week, plus I made the waitlist for a 6 AM class. Thank you all for the AWESOME experience, a big thank you to Matt, and a shoutout to the wonderful lady next to me! And last but not least, the homie - Foster!
I’ve been coming to this studio for a little over a month and I LOVE it!! The owner, Kat, is super friendly, as well as all the yoga instructors. They really care about making sure your form is correct when doing certain poses. The hot classes are HOT, so definitely come prepared for that!
I attended the studio for about 6 months. The classes I took were well instructed and offered various levels of difficulty. They do offer supplies/materials if you have forgotten or don't have certain supplies. However, the schedule of class times is VERY limited, their first/earliest non-senior class is at 10 am, and it's the only class available in the morning during the week. If you're an early bird this is not your studio. They do offer 1/2 evening classes everyday but Friday/Saturday. Secondly, I personally do not think the studio is maintained in it's cleanliness to the best standards. The bathroom ceiling fans had what seemed to be the same dust the entire time, and my motto is everything is interconnected. If the bathroom isn't getting the best cleaning neither is the studio. Lastly, this is ultimately what led to the three stars, the check in lady/owner doesn't seem very friendly. IMO I'm not sure if it's that she isn't friendly or her staff is just so much friendlier than her that it makes her seem aloof.
