This was my third time here but this time we were a table of 10 and our waitress was so good once we were seated, she checked back with us often. Drinks were always full. There were a few dietary requirements needed that was booked in advance and the team delivered. The food was well cooked. Seasoned perfect and everyone left with a full belly. Would recommend again. Our table was a set menu of $93 each not including drinks. We got garlic bread for the table. Then I had the beef burnt end tacos to start. The marinade on the meat was so tasty. My main was the eye fillet 200gm cooked rare with mushroom sauce and salad. To finish I had the basque cheesecake.

We had the freshest, most tender calamari we've ever had for entrees. Main was their rump steak, so tender with mushroom sauce and sorbet for dessert was so refreshing. Would definitely go back another time.

We had high expectations for Hunter & Barrel Perth, but the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. We ordered the tomahawk medium, but it came out well done, which was disappointing for a steak at this price point. The Brussels sprouts were okay, though they could have used more charring for better flavor. Service was acceptable but nothing memorable. Reservations were difficult to secure, and unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t justify the effort. Likely won’t be coming back.

We visited Hunter & Barrel in Perth on Saturday 13 December as a party of six and had an outstanding experience. Our waiter was fabulous, incredibly attentive without being overbearing, and made us feel genuinely well looked after. All of the staff were welcoming and professional throughout the evening. The décor and atmosphere were spot on, stylish and relaxed, perfect for a night out. The cocktails were fantastic and the food was absolutely amazing, every dish each of us had was a standout. Honestly, the only issue we had was choosing what to eat because everything on the menu sounded so tasty. We all left thoroughly impressed and would happily return and recommend it to others.

Honestly, I expected a lot more from this place -especially knowing it shares the same ownership as Six Head 🥩👀. We walked in without a booking and got seated outside, right next to a Chanel window display - classy view, I guess? 💅 But for a spot like this, I was hoping for a little more wow factor. The menu looked promising with plenty of options, but here’s the kicker - no mention of gluten-free choices anywhere 🤦♂️. For a meat-based place, that’s kinda weird. My partner did well with the lamb (props to her 🐑👏), while my rump steak was… fine. Just fine. Nothing wrong, but nothing memorable either - let’s call it “standard.” Cocktails? Excellent 🍸👌. Staff? A mix of “I’d rather be home right now” 😐 and “I actually like my job” 😄. Service overall was okay, but at this price range, I expected a bit more polish. Speaking of pricing — $150 for two mains (one great, one meh), two cocktails, a bottle of water, and a dessert. That’s the famous Perth Tax™ at work 💸. Unfortunately, when the food doesn’t match the price tag, my heart can’t go past 3 stars overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📊 Scorecard • Ambience: 3.0/5 • Menu: 4.65/5 • Food: 4.25/5 • GFO: 1.0/5 • Staff: 4.25/5 • Service: 4.0/5 • Pricing: 3.0/5 • Overall Average: ⭐️ 3.45/5
