My family was in Scottsdale, AZ on a golf trip during the Christmas week and decided to try Kodo for a birthday celebration after a lot of research for an authentic Japanese cuisine around that area. Well, I was not disappointed. First, Sunny provided excellent service during my call to put my name on the waitlist before I traveled and also when we arrived the night of my birthday. Second, the food is super fresh. We ordered the Oasis Roll as our appetizer and four Omakase for dinner. The oasis roll was average, but the Omakase was super fresh. Kodo owner and staff were so friendly and welcoming from the very beginning. After 2 bottles of nice sake along with our dinner, we were feeling pretty satisfied. We were so satisfied that we went back the following week for my sister's birthday. Again, excellent service and great food! The only downfall was the Japanese Udon -- we wanted some hot soup after the Omakase, and it was lukewarm at best. All in all, Kodo is a great restaurant and provides excellent service!

I had such an amazing experience here! The service was truly five-star — the waitresses were so much fun and made the whole night feel special. We ordered several rolls and every single one was mouthwatering. The restaurant is small enough so you can see the sushi bar from your and watch the chefs make everything fresh, which adds so much to the experience. One thing that really stood out to me was their rice options. Their brown rice and especially their purple rice are incredible — and all of their rolls come with purple rice! It’s unique, flavorful, and makes the sushi taste even better. This is the kind of place you come to for both the food and the vibe. Highly recommend! 🍣💜

Stopped by for lunch while visiting Scottsdale. What a find. Super fresh sushi nigiri. They use black sushi rice. Family is still talking about how fresh it was. Especially the salmon. Ordered a few rolls. Can’t remember what they were. We liked 2 of the 3. Absolutely will be back when visiting next. Our server was very forgetful, but she was nice.

Well done! Loved the interaction amd friendliness with the sushi chefs at the sushi bar. Tastes were fresh and you can tell they have a labor of love, value the presentation and quality of each plate, no matter how small. Poke bowl, regular and specials rolls were all delicious. Would go back for sure.

Excellent value for money sushi bar. The chefs are skilled and the ingredients fresh. The yellowtail carpaccio was perfectly balanced. Menu has all the popular flavours people know, and plenty of drinks on the menu. Service is warm and attentive. The restaurant is clean and well decorated. Would definitely come back.
