Our third visit to Lars, went for Friday lunch. Service was great, kitchen staff took the time to say hi on our way to our table. Entrees were exceptional, freshest scallops & pumpkin pasta. My steak frites was tasty & cooked well. Very comfortable seating and table service.

We’ve eaten at LARS Bar and Grill three times now. Our first two visits were really pleasant, meals were lovely and the service was good, which is why we decided to bring friends along for dinner on our most recent visit. Unfortunately, this last experience was very disappointing. Entrees came out quickly, but our mains took over an hour to arrive. To be fair, the restaurant was busy, and we were understanding of that. However, things became uncomfortable when one of the male servers had a very public argument with a female staff member dressed in black. He loudly said, “Excuse me, I’m talking! Don’t interrupt me when I’m speaking” and then told a coworker, “I can’t work with her!” Threw his arms up and stormed off. This happened in front of diners and was extremely confronting. Myself and my female friend felt very uncomfortable witnessing it. When our meals finally arrived, we were served the wrong cuts of steak. The same male server told us the steak was an eye fillet when we had ordered the rump cap. Again he argued and told us we were wrong. My steak was also very undercooked. When I asked him what he thought of the cook, he ignored me completely. Another server later came over, handled the situation politely, and had my steak cooked correctly, it was delicious once fixed. Overall, our first two visits were great, but this last one was not. The combination of the long wait, incorrect meals, and unprofessional behaviour made for a very unpleasant evening. Sadly, it will be our last visit. I’ll also note, there is a strange smell in the restaurant when you first walk in. It’s not pleasant at all. Back to The glenelg public house we go.

Absolutely blown away these are the best oysters I’ve ever had in my life! Everything we tried was of amazing quality, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The food here is consistently outstanding, and it’s clear a lot of care goes into every dish. The restaurant had old carpet, which felt a bit unusual, but honestly that didn’t take away from the experience at all.

We recently went to Lars Bar & Grill, the service and food was outstanding. We had the crab rosti and yellow fin tuna entree, followed by the Sirloin wagyu and prime rib, everything was delicious! Highly recommend

Lars is the perfect casual fine dining restaurant. We’ve been a few times now, and are absolutely obsessed. The food is outstanding and the staff are lovely. Highly recommend the burger and any steak! The snapper and capers is divine. Sides, highly recommend the greens and cucumber salad. It can get loud and vibrant, so if you are after a particularly quiet dining experience, this is not the place for you.
