Unfortunately i am very disappointed i order food here for the second time today . The first time was last week and the food was really good . However today at work i wanted to order from here for lunch . So i did through door dash for delivery. While i was eating my food i went to go in the bag and the receipt that was taped to the bag flipped over there was a smashed roach on the back of the receipt paper . I threw my whole lunch away . I wanted to throw up for the rest of the day . I work at wakemed here in cary area and this is a brand new building . We don’t have roaches here. I grabbed the food from the dasher and went straight to the break room to eat . So please beware . I was so excited about the food and then i saw that . This had made me not want to order door dash or eat out ever again.
I stopped by Let’s Eat Soul Food last Thursday and ordered a 6-piece wing combo, plain for me and Hot Honey for my friend. My wings were fine, just nothing too memorable, but my friend’s Hot Honey wings were amazing. The honey mustard sauce we got on the side really helped balance out the heat. We both thought the fries were okay. I think a little more salt would’ve made a big difference. Kayla, our cashier, was super nice and even helped me get a better angle to see the sanitation grade, which I appreciated! Overall, the food and service were good. I actually went back yesterday to try the Hot Honey wings for myself, and those were a 10/10. Definitely recommend giving them a try!
Spent $31 on a fried fish plate with lemonade and peach pudding. I wanted some good soul food for awhile. I got mac n cheese and suppose to be collard green and cabbage mix. (It was only collard greens). The greens were very bitter and had no seasoning at all. The mac n cheese was good. The fish however was not crunchy bc of the hot honey sauce on it, and waaayyy too salty. I could not really enjoy the meal. I ordered peach pudding but got pineapple pudding instead. I’m glade I’m not allergic to pineapples smh. The watermelon lemonade is as super surgary had to water that down sooo bad. My husband ordered the food for pick up. We got there after they said it was done and still waited almost 30 minutes just to pick it up. I am always ready and happy to support a black owned business but the food was overpriced, not that great and super long wait just to pick up pre-orders food. I may try again but I’m not in a rush to pay for not that great food and service
I had a hankering for soul food and decided to try here. Upon entry, I was optimistic and was happy with all the menu choices. I decided on the fried flounder, mac n cheese, yam souffle, collard greens, banana pudding and a slice of birthday cake flavored cake. My order took about 10 minutes to come out. The food overall was good but not the best soul food I've ever had. The flounder was seasoned well and hot, the mac n cheese was so so, yam souffle was delicious, they (and I) forgot my collards. I didn't realize it until I got home, so I just charged it to the game. The banana pudding was homemade, it seems, and not that instant pudding stuff. The birthday cake was also pretty good. I would try here again just to see the variety.
Our food was too salty. The service was good, staff were friendly and we had a good portion of food, but I just couldn't eat it! I ordered hot and honey tenders, cabbage and collards mixed, and garlic mash potatoes. It was all too salty. My husband ordered chicken wings and pinto beans. The chicken wings were good, but the pinto beans were salty! Oh the cornbread and banana pudding was good too!
