The duopoly monopoly strikes again. Good bye to a great bottle shop Vintage Cellars and replaced by Liquorland. Same generic brands, no range and clearly focused on bulk buys that are making more margin. Good bye to all the local brands and expert advice. Shame on you Coles hope the shareholders are happy

I attended today, 09.01.26. I asked the only employee for a certain wine and he told me he had never heard of it. Rather than looking it up he took me to the red section ; I told him it was a white. He was so very offhand he should not be unsupervised (if there are all!). I have been a patron of Vintage Cellars for 40 years. i will not return to this store. I unpacked the other wine chosen to the shelf and went to Dan Murphys .

5pm on a Saturday and there is a sign on the door saying “on break, back at 5:15pm :)”. Phenomenal time for a break and they didn’t even return for 5:15pm. Saw so many people walk away and myself include as it’s peak time on a Saturday and no one was back.

Went on the evening of 8th October 25 (I was the only customer in the shop) and had the rudest, most passive aggressive service from the guy working there . I was on the mobile (a call I had to take unfortunately, due to an adverse medical diagnosis for a family member), and I waited patiently at the counter to pay while the guy stocked shelves in front of me. No issues - I waited until he eventually acknowledged me, and he said “oh, you ready to pay? Thought you were on a phone call”. I apologised, although I had nothing to apologise for, but the guy continued with his passive aggressive schtick. I recognise that being on the phone isn’t ideal, but I can walk and chew gum at the same time and I was polite and friendly to this guy. Mobile phones aren’t going away, so if this dude continues in a customer service role, he may want to adapt to the reality of modern life.

Has very limited range of popular beverages considering the massive floor space. The staff member seemed unfamiliar with the stock and uninterested in helping me.
