Highly recommend. Great atmosphere, food, and service. The appetizers, salads, entrees, and drinks were expectional. Must orders are the wild mushroom arancini, chicken parm, gnocchi, and caesar salad. This is one of the best caesar salads I have ever had.
We visited Little Nonna’s this past Saturday while in Philly, and it was such a great experience. We grabbed a cheesesteak earlier (because you can’t come to Philly and not), then headed to dinner. It’s a small, cozy spot with that authentic Italian feel and candle-lit ambiance. They seated us earlier than our reservation, which was a nice surprise. We started with the garlic bread with the oven-baked garlic on the side and the stuffed meatballs — both were delicious and full of flavor. I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka with sausage, and wow… the sauce was creamy, rich, and absolutely comforting. It genuinely felt like I was eating Italian grandma home cooking. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm — it was good, though my dish definitely stole the show. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and warmth of the place made it such a memorable meal. I’d definitely come back and would recommend it if you’re looking for authentic, comforting Italian food in Philly.
Little Nonna’s – Philadelphia First off, they do not hold back on portion sizes, which is always a win. Appetizers • Little Nonna Garlic Bread – Great. Simple and done right. • Wild Mushroom Arancini – Great. Just a heads up: very hot on the first bite. • B+V+P Meatballs – Great. Flavorful and comforting. • Romaine + Fennel Caesar – Great. The warm polenta croutons were unique and really good. • Roasted Cauliflower – Great. The sauce that comes with it was super tasty. Main Courses • Chicken Parmesan – The sauce and noodles were very good. My mom wasn’t blown away by the chicken itself—she said it wasn’t bad, just not as strong as the rest of the food. • Wild Mushroom Bucatini – Great. Creamy white sauce, rich and comforting. The noodles are on the thicker side, which I personally liked. We also saw a lot of people ordering the Sunday Gravy, and it looked amazing, definitely getting that next time. Dessert • Espresso Tiramisu – Amazing. • Hazelnut Cannoli – Also amazing. Let’s just say after all that food, we could barely walk out the door. Already looking forward to coming back. Side note: it is very dark in there so make sure you bring your readers or pull out your phone for a flashlight if you struggle with reading in the dark.
My husband and I threw a 40 person dinner party in their back court yard on 11/1 to celebrate our elopement in Italy with friends and family. Little Nonna’s did Ana amazing job from start to finish. They had the most helpful staff, the best bar tenders, and the best food that everyone loved. We felt like everything was perfectly taken care of and no matter what we asked of them, they always saw it through. I can’t thank the staff enough and Maggie the event coordinator who was there to answer my questions every step of the way. We had a blast and want to do it all over again. They did amazing!!!
I love this little Italian restaurant so much! My husband and I came for a first night in Philadelphia dinner and it did not disappoint. We loved the dim lighting with candle lit tables and the food was fantastic. Everything we ordered was incredible. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful and you could tell the ingredients were super high quality. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants delicious food with great service.
