When I listened to Go! My Favorite Sports Team! Explain that rock climbing is the easiest sport to get into, and the community is the nicest and most welcoming, MCC is the shining star of that claim. I haven’t been climbing since I was a teeny little guy, and I’ve been looking for something to better my general health. I just got the day pass to check it out, and wound up NEEDING to see which routes I can climb to the top (not many) and chatting with the regulars. Everyone is so nice that I somehow ended up doing grueling abs exercises with a group, and having a ton of fun. I’m always polite but guarded around strangers, but these folks felt like old friends. The vibes alone have made a new member.

I have been a member for the past year here and absolutely love it. I used to work nights and its hard to describe the feeling of biking over on a summer night, listening to your own music and having the gym to yourself for hours. Pretty unbeatable. Problems are challenging with lots of variation. Very easy to bring friends along, and the day passes are super affordable compared to competitors. Will be signing up for another year!

This place is the perfect spot for me. Because I work at bars, I have a very odd schedule. I come in to climb around midnight, put on my music and it’s always a great workout, with great routes set. And always clean! On top of being the only gym that can fit my schedule, it’s also the cheapest, and my favorite one I’ve been to. Very much worth the membership fee!

This place has some of the best sets in the Twin Cities. They do so much with the amount of space they have and the staff is wonderful. Plus, the access pass means you can come here any time of day! If you sleep poorly, just come here at three in the morning and bump your own tunes while getting send after send! There are a lot of fantastic new bouldering spots, but the community and the setting here keep me coming back.

Definitely a personal favorite. I work at one of the other climbing gyms in the cities and appreciate being able to climb in a quieter, more personal space while I'm not at work. It feels like home every time I walk in, and I've gotten significantly stronger climbing here. This is a close-knit community and a good space to make new friends or just do your own thing, depending on how you feel. The setting is solid, and I love that it's a co-op!
