My 2 yo daughter and I were in Teacher Sami's class in Noe Valley for three semesters since she was 14 months old. My daughter absolutely loves this program and waits all week for the class. Teacher Sami is wonderful, all the songs are really nice and we keep playing the CD's we got at home. The online registration process is very convenient and the office is super responsive to emails and helps with any issue.
This review is for classes with Teacher Heather at the St. Francis Church location. These classes are wonderful and I highly recommend them. Teacher Heather is a great instructor. My daughter loves to sing and play instruments because of these classes. The CDs that come with enrollment are excellent and contain really special and unique children's music that we play in the car constantly and sing throughout the day. I am so impressed with the Music Together curriculum. These classes are an invaluable experience at the crucial developmental stage of early childhood, so I highly recommend them to all parents.
What a remarkable class for kids to learn about and begin their appreciation of music. Monica loved the program which we did for a few years. They kept it fresh with new songs and different activities during the class. The best part is when they pull out a tub of different musical instruments. The eyes of all the kids light up at once and they get to explore different musical combinations and trying out new instruments. Such a great experience for both parents and kids.
We always enjoyed going to Music Together classes with our son (at the Bernal Heights location). I appreciated that my husband and I could switch off going, and that we could listen to the CDs at home so that we were always familiar with the songs during class. Also, it's helpful that you can make up a class if you miss one, so you don't waste money. It's actually fun to participate, too -- not annoying at all. And the teachers know the children's names and don't mind if they kind of wander around doing their own thing; there's not some expectation that the kids will sit perfectly the entire time. A great introduction to music!
Music together is a wonderful program. I have taken two of my daughters for several years and fully intend to take my third daughter as well when she is 6 months old. The program is rooted in solid musical theory with a philosophy that is very open, creative, and inclusive. The teachers are true gems and come from varied musical backgrounds which makes the experience even richer. Now here is the best part: it is super fun for my kids and me. We thoroughly enjoy every class, we listen to the cd's, we play the songs on our piano and we dance to our own versions at home. I wholeheartedly recommend music together.
