We brought our daughter to Edinburgh for a 6-month scholarship. On her very first day, her 9-month-old laptop refused to boot, stuck in the BIOS with the hard drive not being detected. We contacted Alex by email on Sunday evening and received a reply within 3 minutes. She dropped the laptop off on Tuesday afternoon, and the issue was resolved by Wednesday morning. The PC was ready to use, fully updated, everything working. Alex kept us informed at every stage of the troubleshooting and resolution, on Whatsapp, and was very patient with my questions. What we initially feared was a hardware failure turned out to be a software issue (corrupted boot). He fixed the issue and also replaced the old, dried-up thermal paste with a new one. Throughout the process, he kept me updated by sending pictures on WhatsApp.
