They got us in last minute and we're extremely welcoming to us and our two pups! Definitely a huge relief with visiting from out of state. Facilities were awesome and I felt comfortable with leaving our pups there!
My name is Dr. Bryan Leo Berkenbile and I am a general practice veterinarian in the Columbus area. I have 2 small dogs that are the light of my life. A nearly 16 year old mini Lhasa apso mix (Bodhi) and a nearly 5 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Rusty). Both dogs are plagued with an assortment of medical issues (heart disease, collapsing trachea, Cushing's disease, Chiari-Like Malformation and Syringomyelia) that require they each be receiving multiple pills 3 times a day. This is all to say that my dogs are a handful. I am a non-native Ohioan and travel multiple times annually. Bodhi had ben staying at this location for the past 8 years and Rusty has been stying there his whole life! Everyone here is kins and you can tell that they love the dogs (and other creatures) in their ward. I have never ONCE been concerned that anything bad was happening while I was out of town. Sure, they may have had some minor issues here and there but I was always kept in the loop if anything happened. The entire staff are wonderful and all deserve praise in my opinion. Here are some examples of staff going above and beyond for our beloved pups: Emma - Our flight arrived late and she let us pick up our 2 dogs AFTER they closed. This meant the world to us with how delicate they are health wise. Thank you Emma and team for staying late and not making us return the next morning. Cheyenne - Has continually been tremendously helpful over the years. I am not sure if she still works with the company. But when she did, there was not a doubt in my mind that she would do her absolute best to care for all the pets in the facility (not just mine). Katelynn - Most recently, we started having our dogs fed separately because the young one is stealing the older one's food. We watched Katelynn sit with Bodhi IN HER KENNEL and hand feed her meatballs for at least 1/2 hour or so. Ladies and gentlemen (those mentioned specifically and all others of you that help), Bodhi, Rusty, Dana, and I would like to sincerely thank you for your years of dedicated service and passion. Words cannot capture the depth of our gratitude. Sincerely, The Berkenbiles
We’ve used Pet Palace for over a decade and they have been absolutely wonderful to our pack. They treat our pups like their own family and keep us posted if anything comes up during visits. Our elderly guy Walter can’t get around as well anymore and they make sure he has anti-slip mats and is comfortable during his stays. When our tripod, Lucy started to slow down, they also took extra steps to ensure her comfort. The people are friendly and kind and I never worry about our dogs whenever we take them there. Thank you for caring for all of our fur-kids, and for your kindness and love when we lost Lucy in 2024.
I have been a customer for several years, but unfortunately, I had the worst experience recently. I took my cat in for grooming and requested a haircut, nail trimming, and a shower. This wasn't my first time; we had done this 4-5 times before, and it was always great. Two hours later, I received a call from Emily, the pet groomer, informing me that my cat was aggressive, and she couldn't complete the grooming. When I went to pick him up, I found that she had shaved half of his body (see attached picture), and that was all she did. I was charged $91, even for the services she did not provide, as it was my cat who refused the grooming, not her. I returned two days later, and the manager defended the situation, stating that six people had tried to assist her but were unable to, mentioning there was blood and that my cat bit them. Eventually, she refunded my money. As a team lead for a customer support team, I understand what "customer support" entails, and my experience at this location was the worst. I can see why the groomer behaved that way, given the manager's attitude. The manager was very rude and even racist, showing no smile when we entered. I had seen her before and felt the need to speak to her about hiring staff who are friendly to customers. Perhaps she had an issue with my appearance, but as a customer, if she cannot tolerate people of different races, she should not be in a customer support role. I asked her for the district manager's contact information, and she handed me a sticky note with the email in a very dismissive manner, as if to say, "do what you want, I don't care." She claimed my cat bit them while six people were holding him, but I don't believe her. When I picked him up, the groomer stated she stopped when he began to bite her because it was unsafe for her, and she didn't mention anything about six people or blood. The manager lied to cover up her poor performance. I looked up Linden and found contact information for Lora Shaw, the vice president of operations. I did not want to reach out to her before contacting the district manager, as I want the district manager to get in touch with me. You can find my contact information in your system; my last name is Elaiashy, and my cat's name is Whiskers.
I've boarded my Danes with Pet Palace several times for a few lengthy stays and they've both come home happy and healthy, each time. I'm impressed with Pet Palace's staff, they're professional with me and considerate and attentive to my dogs' needs. Their grooming has also been notable with nails done effectively, coats clean and smelling sweet. I like the little extra add ons -- steaks that they'll cook for the dogs, extra play times, its a nice touch to make their stay a bit more enjoyable. They also threw a little birthday celebration for Lucy for her 6th birthday.
