Had a good experience for a private lesson at pilates, Bernadette seems a very experienced/professional coach, especially in strength training, injury recovering rehabilitation etc, she offers more nuanced guidance. I am now joined at their beginning class after the private lesson.
Bernadette at Pilates Pro has changed my life. I had suffered with back pain for years due to scoliosis, consulting surgeons, requiring regular chiropractic, and still was re-injuring frequently and easily. I was referred to Pilates Pro about 6 years ago by my physiotherapist, (Angela Hazlewood at St Vital Physio - also amazing). Bernadette is incredibly knowledgeable and pays close attention to form, posture and technique (no cheating allowed:). Only attending one class per week improved my posture and alignment dramatically, and more importantly strengthened my core. I traded my debilitating back pain for the satisfying short term muscle stiffness that often follows a good workout! I now attend twice per week and am stronger at almost 50 than I was in my 20s. I’ve known about Pilates for years, but went to barre yoga instead. Then life got in the way, then came Covid, no more working out! My body lost a lot of muscle and along came a chronic pain in my left cheek, (you know which cheek I’m talking about). I’ve had lower back pain, that I aways thought I would have to live with due to my years of bad posture. I did heating pads every night and physiotherapy, but working out at home, wasn’t for me. Time to fix my posture and core. I found Pro Pilates and Bernadette! Best life choice! My lower back pain and that left cheek pain is pretty much gone. I never thought that would happen. I’m stronger, even though making muscle when you’re older is hard. Bernadette’s classes are small, so she is constantly correcting you! Doing an exercise wrong isn’t doing anything beneficial! Just a little change in your body position will change what muscle is getting a workout. Best teacher I’ve ever had, thank you Bernadette!
Bernadette is an exceptional instructor who cares for all of her clients well-being. The classes are small in size which allows for individualized focus and Bernadette is able to adjust to your specific needs. I attended Pilates Pro throughout my pregnancy as she was able to modify to my needs.
