Florentin is truly a master of his craft. The original wedding dress I ordered to my body measurements got lost in shipping, so I had to order a standard size and get it altered in a semi-quick turnaround. Florentin had great availability for an initial appointment, making it easy to get on his schedule. During my appointment, he made suggestions on things I hadn't even thought about, and was so knowledgeable about what would work best to get the final product I wanted. Pricing was very reasonable, my dress was ready a couple weeks before my wedding to give time for any additional requests I might have (I had none, since he perfected it on the first try), and it was an overall fantastic experience. With a strapless dress, I was most worried about having to pull it up all night, but Florentin made sure the fit was exactly right to stay up on it's own. In addition to the bodice alterations, I also had my train significantly shortened and the leg slit closed up some (which was no easy feat because the slit wasn't a straight cut to begin with). I couldn't have been happier with the finished product, and would recommend Portland Alterations to anyone looking for quality alterations service.
Very high quality work and for a fair price. I couldn't recommend them more, especially if youre looking for a place to trust with your nicer clothes. Work was done pretty quickly. They made my suede jacket fit like a glove looks 20x better now
Amazing work. He does great with military uniforms and follows regulations for dress uniforms. I needed my ASGUs fitted and patches sewn on last minute and he completed it in less than a full two days. Very professional fitting and work. Took the time for another service member on his day off to get him fitted as well.
I had never worked with a tailor before coming to Portland Alterations. Florentin and Lidiya were incredibly kind and friendly. I wasn’t quite sure what I needed done to fix my suit, but Florentin took the time to walk me through my options during the fitting and gave some really great suggestions. They were upfront about the price and it felt fair for the amount of work we decided on. I entered just hoping that they could make my suit look a little less silly on me, and ended up with a perfectly fitted suit that I’ll be able to wear for years to come. I’m so glad I found Portland Alterations and will absolutely come back next time I need alterations!
I found the vintage wedding dress I was dreaming of about 10 days before my wedding and needed alterations fast! I was recommended Portland Alterations by a different seamstress that wouldn't work on a vintage dress. I needed it to be larger so I was hoping some of the side seams could be let out, and I wanted it cut into a shorter dress. Florentin said there wasn't enough fabric to let out, but that he could add fabric from the bottom that we cut off. It ended up perfect! I am so happy with how it came out and that he was able to do it in such a small time frame.
