My wife and I have watched hundreds of Youtube videos over the past few years covering all aspects of canal life. To celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary I decided to book the cute narrow boat “Irene” for the day and take a leisurely cruise with five of our friends and family. Jordan and Lee were amazing! Even though we’d watched lots of videos we’d never actually taken charge of a narrow boat before. They explained everything really well which gave us the confidence to set off, albeit as a crew of novices. The route immediately enters gorgeous countryside and even though I’d walked the towpath dozens of times, seeing it from a different perspective was magical! The boat was really easy to handle, most of us had a stint at the tiller and within 20 minutes we were able to stop zigzagging and cruise the boat in the direction we actually wanted to go. :) It was so much fun, taking charge of a type of vehicle we’d never set foot on before and quickly mastering the craft. We cruised for 7 hours in total but it honestly felt like 2 or 3, as they say; time flies when you’re having fun! All the crew said it’s one of the best things they’ve ever done and I agree. We will definitely be in contact with Jordan and Lee again soon to arrange our next cruise!

What an absolutly fantastic experience. Had the best day trip ever .as soon as we got there party of 4 ,we were made to feel very at ease with the guys we hired the boat from they made sure we knew what we were doing took our 5 year old grandson they were laughing and joking with him he loved it even gave him a little captains hat .we loved just cruising up the canal had a cheeky drink in the pub before we turned around we had such a laugh trying to do that .would definitely do it again and would definitely recommend it for anyone any age what a brilliant day thankyou

We had a fab family day on the canal. The boat was fine and everything worked.,We were well instructed so managed to sort out weed etc and get ourselves back on time. It was a lovely experience

We hired a narrow boat for the day and it was great! Clear instructions and friendly and helpful staff. It was great to be able to go over the Marple Aqueduct and there’s very nice woods all around for most of the route. Boat was equipped with kettle, tea, coffee, cutlery and crockery and plenty of space for nine of us to sit comfortably. There were also pans available and a two ring hob. Very good for a family day out. It was fun going through a couple of tunnels too!

Absolutely wonderful day out. We hired "Barbara" and had the best time making our way from the Basin to Marple Aqueduct. There were 10 adults and 2 kids. We had everything we needed on board - kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, cups and cutlery. We brought our own glasses for a couple of cheeky proseccos... Great instructions from Lee, and a text reminder to let us know when it was time to head back from Marple (we were already on our way, but a great little tip if time runs away with you!). A really relaxing day, and we're already talking about our next outing! Thanks for having us, and we'll be back again soon!
