We couldn’t be more grateful for everyone at POW. They all take such great care of our daughters whether it is during the weekly classes or the day off camps or the summer camps. Coach Lizzie has especially made it easy for us to know our kids are in a fun and safe environment. You can tell she is passing down her enthusiasm and care to the newer crew of coaches too. Also a great environment for kids birthday parties. POW is the best.
I’ve been doing semi-private training sessions at POW! Gym for a couple of months now and it’s easily the best fitness experience I’ve had. The owner and all of the trainers are very friendly and motivating. The semi-private format is perfect. You get real coaching / form fixes, programming that fits your level, while you make steady progress at a far more affordable price than one-on-one private training. Workouts are challenging, varied, and never boring. I’m stronger, moving better, and actually consistent for the first time in years. If you’re looking for a place that feels personal and delivers results without the big-gym chaos, this is it. Highly recommend trying a session.
We’ve been bringing our son to Pow Gym for kids and youth classes for almost seven years now, and it’s been a fantastic experience from the start. They offer great drop-off programs that keep younger kids active and engaged - the superhero training classes are a favorite! Our son has also attended their summer camps and school day-off programs, all of which have been incredibly fun and well-run. The environment at Pow Gym is positive and supportive, and the coaches are truly dedicated, they make every session enjoyable while helping the kids grow. Their youth athlete program is especially impressive; they take the time to assess each child and place them in the right training group to help them progress safely and effectively. We feel very fortunate to have Pow Gym in our neighborhood!
POW! Is a special community. The facility is clean, well organized and has every piece of equipment you could want and then some. The group training classes are always designed with thoughtful and challenging exercises designed to not only give you a good workout, but to improve strength, mobility and longevity. The boxing and kickboxing classes are for all skill levels. All of the coaches do a great job of ensuring you have the opportunity to train at your level. The other gym-goers are positive, kind people and easy to work with. The community may be the best part. Kat, Lizzie, Richard and Dwayne are all phenomenal coaches and people. There's zero judgement and every single person is super friendly.
POW Gym has been an incredible part of my son’s life since he was just 7 years old. Now a high school sophomore, he still looks forward to training there and continues to find it both enjoyable and inspiring. The gym has provided him with more than just fitness—it has been a true community and a safe space where he has grown both physically and emotionally. What stands out most is the generosity and kindness of the gym owner. During a time of financial hardship, my son was allowed to continue his training without interruption, something I will always be grateful for. This is a gym that not only teaches discipline and fitness but also cares deeply about its members and their families. POW is more than a gym—it’s a vital part of the Chicago community. It keeps kids off the streets, gives them a positive outlet, and instills values and lessons that will serve them for years to come. I highly recommend it to any family looking for a place where their child can grow, be supported, and thrive.
